
A Walk In Springtime ... The Reiki Breath Of Love And Peace

This is a guided meditation allowing you to imagine waking in early Springtime in Eastern Canada, as you experience the interconnection of nature's elements with your body's energy and your practice of Reiki as you breathe. Enjoy!
Transcript
Welcome to this guided meditation where you will be communing with all of the elements of nature,
Especially the air element of Universal Life Force through your breath.
And in your breathing,
You will experience a calming energy as your breath connects your vital life energy with the energy of Universal Life Force.
Your lungs are the bridge between these forces.
You may wish to move outdoors to listen to this meditation where the presence of nature sounds are real for you.
We will begin our meditation by taking a few slower and deeper breaths.
And as you begin to feel your body relaxing and calming,
I'd like you to take your hands and place them one above the other on the center of your chest comfortably.
And then relax your body around that position so that you are comfortable and can sustain this position.
It's a very soothing position for you throughout this time.
And then take another slower and deeper breath.
I would like you to imagine that you and I are going to go for a walk together.
It is morning in the early spring in eastern Canada.
Snow remains in patches here and there.
The roads and walkways are dry.
We do need to dress warmly though as the temperature hovers around the freezing mark.
So lace up your runners,
Put on a jacket,
Scarf,
Hat and gloves and we'll be on our way.
Our walk begins on a trail that leads to a hidden lake that is just beyond the village.
As we walk side by side,
We are each experiencing the warmth of the sunshine on our backs and the freshness of the spring air on our faces.
We are walking north on the trail alongside a meandering stream that is filled to overflowing with the spring runoff from the fields that surround this location.
In the distance we can hear the spring sounds of red-winged blackbirds reclaiming their territory and robins singing beautifully.
Listen also to the other year-round birds that are making themselves known from time to time.
Sparrows,
Chickadees,
Bluebirds,
Blue jays,
Finches,
Crows of course.
And overhead a flock of geese are honking their familiar sounds.
They seem to be headed to the lake also that is just around the corner.
So let's stop talking and walking for a moment and just take all of these sounds and beauty of this morning into our awareness as we pause and take a slower and deeper breath.
And simply listen to all the sounds that are present to us in this location.
And we'll continue on again,
Perhaps even break into a slow jog if you'd like to for a few moments.
Starting to enjoy the feeling of freshness of spring all around us and the sounds of spring.
And then slowing again as we see the entrance to the lake in the distance.
The pathway narrows as we approach the lake and begin to walk slowly.
As we enter the forested area,
We immediately notice a change in the feeling of the air.
This heavy,
Humid freshness against our skin.
As though we are sensing the forest energy it contains,
Drawing us into its embrace.
Can you feel it?
We pass by a number of trees that have fallen over the years.
They lie in this natural environment where they once fell,
Undisturbed and at rest.
We walk past them respectfully and quietly and up the gentle knoll that leads us to the lake.
Another flock of about 20 geese is immediately overhead.
Look up.
Can you hear the solid rhythmic sound of strength of their wings as they fly above us?
And then out above the lake to circle around it before they land.
And then land easily on the surface with a distinctive gentle sounding splash trailing upwards behind them.
They are joining the several hundred geese that are already there.
Some appear to be sleeping.
Their heads are tucked into their wings.
While others are noisily communicating their welcome to this latest incoming flock,
Our flock makes its way to greet the welcomeers before finding their own space to rest.
And then the hundreds of geese settle and become still,
At least for now.
A breeze comes up as we stand overlooking the lake.
We interpret this as our welcome from the universe as heard through the trees and felt on our faces.
And then the breeze falls away again as we prepare to settle in ourselves and become still like the geese.
This is a relatively small lake.
It's surrounded by tall pine trees that are prevalent throughout this area and whose needles produce a healing chemical that is thought to help those with lung conditions.
So take a deep breath of pine tree air in now.
As you gaze upon this beautiful lake whose pines follow its contours all around the lake to this space where we are standing.
So breathe in this pine tree air again,
Breathing in and breathing out.
And again breathing in and breathing out.
And truly connecting with that smell and freshness of pine tree air.
One more time breathing in and breathing out.
Look above you now and see the beautiful blue sky ahead,
Above,
Around,
Everywhere,
Peeking through the tree tops.
Beautiful blue stretching out completely over the lake and its surrounding trees for as far as you can see.
The sun is hidden for the moment above the pines that stand in stillness also.
It's time for you and I to find a comfortable spot to either sit or stand for this meditation.
So I invite you to take a look around you now at what surrounds you in this spot and then just listen to your spirit's inner call of where you might like to go to enjoy this space in nature the most.
Take another slower and deeper breath and then proceed there in your imagination and I will be close by.
As we settle into this location we are just so taken again by all the beauty around us overlooking the lake as we breathe.
And with each slowing and deepening breath bring your awareness to your shoulders and let them lower and relax into this space of beauty and nature's home.
Feel the pine needles on the ground beneath your shoes creating a soft pad on top of the spring earth and smell the earth as you take your next breath in.
The tell tale aroma of spring and then smile as you breathe out and just enjoy this sensation of nature's elements awakening through the almost fully melted snow.
And when you feel completely comfortable in this place I invite you to close your eyes and give yourself a moment to take into your awareness of this imaginary place all that is making itself known to you through your senses and through your body's energy.
And as you draw your attention to these things your sensory awareness is grounding you quite naturally into this sacred space of nature welcoming you to feel deeply rooted in this spot where you are standing or sitting both rooted and relaxed and free as you continue to breathe normally.
The sun has found us again.
Its rays are streaming forth for each of us now through the tops of the pines warming us as we stand motionless absorbing everything that nature is feeding us in this moment through our awareness through our energy through our senses nurturing our spirit and soul in this sacred space of nature.
So allow yourself to breathe it all in as you take a deeper and slower breath again.
Breathing in and breathing out.
And imagine that you are seeing everything that surrounds you even though your eyes are closed.
And imagine that you are hearing everything and smelling everything with your next in breath.
And imagine that you are connected to everything in this sacred space connected through your opened energy centers throughout your body and through your complete mental and emotional awareness.
You are connected to the energy of the trees of the earth of the sky of the water and of the geese that almost fill the lake.
Your silence punctuating the sacredness of this space as they share it with us respectfully.
Our sensory awareness or our sacred insight is showing us how easily our energy connects with the elements of nature through our senses.
We taste the air.
We feel its gentle touch against our face.
We gratefully acknowledge each sound in the distance.
Each fragrance being carried in the spring air.
Each visual sensation real or imaginary of beauty.
Our sacred insight is showing us how easily our vital life force is connected to the universal life force as we stop as we are doing now to fully acknowledge the beauty of this sacred space in nature.
And to acknowledge nature as sacred space.
We are connecting with the universal life force of the earth element through the souls of our feet as we imagine ourselves drawing earth energy up through our welcoming body and mind.
We are connecting with the universal life force of the water element of the lake before us as we are moved with the emotion of its simple beauty,
Peace and perfection.
We are connecting with the universal life force of the fire element that is reaching out to us and touching our physical body with the sun's warmth.
Calming us and centering us.
Letting us feel as though we are at home within ourselves.
Being by the hearth of our soul.
Warm,
Welcomed and loved.
We are connecting with the universal life force of the air element through our lungs as we breathe.
And finally we are connecting with the universal life force of the ether element through our spiritual appreciation of nature's beauty.
The peace that is present here.
The peace that is present within us as we imagine ourselves to be in nature.
And the sacredness of all of this.
We are breathing the energy of life force of all the elements of the universe in each breath of air.
We are breathing the energy of universal life force in each breath of air.
Think about that.
We are breathing the energy of universal life force in every breath of air we take.
So with each breath of universal life force we take with awareness and appreciation our vitality is stimulated.
With each breath of awareness and appreciation we take universal life force connects with our vital life energy.
Creating healing energy we know as reiki.
And in this moment of insightful awareness of the connectedness of universal life force with vital life force we humbly acknowledge that with every breath of air we breathe with awareness and appreciation we are breathing the energy of reiki throughout our body and mind.
Continue to breathe easily and normally now.
And just focus on the idea that your very own breath is something that is shared between you and the universe.
A sacred gift that you acknowledge now with each breath in and each breath out.
Receiving and giving.
Refreshing you and energizing your physical body.
Clearing your mind.
Settling your emotions.
Calming and comforting your soul.
And liberating your spirit.
All of these things are happening as you simply bring your awareness and appreciation through your breath.
The breath of vitality you are sharing with the universe.
As a child of the universe.
A child who belongs.
And from this reawakened awareness of yourself as a child of the universe realize that the universe is counting on you and on me to breathe out a sense of love and of a peaceful way of being with each out breath.
To send love and peace out into the sacred space surrounding us.
And then into the distance well beyond our imagination.
Imagine that with each reiki out breath you are doing your part to help raise the consciousness of the world by breathing love and peace into the universe.
The reiki breath of love and peace that will help others to find this sense of universal love and peace also.
Just be with this thought now for a few moments as you comfortably breathe in and out.
And with each out breath imagine you are sending love and peace to unknown destinations on our planet and throughout the universe.
And then sensing these same feelings of love and of peace being returned to you as you breathe back in.
And you'll keep breathing in.
And as you continue to breathe in this manner,
Notice how you are feeling physically.
Notice how you are feeling emotionally,
Mentally and spiritually.
Please acknowledge your feelings with gratitude to the universe and to the sacred space that has surrounded you and comforted you throughout this time in meditation by the lake as you have been simply breathing the reiki breath of love and peace,
Enabling you to feel the grace that is present in this very moment,
Embracing you in this environment with a cosmic hug.
And know that this cosmic hug is always available to you.
It invites you to remain open to receive its embrace into your being because it is always embracing you,
Especially when you ignore it.
All you have to do is consciously breathe its energizing qualities effortlessly.
Your very own self-care practice of reiki that is serving you with your breath,
Your constant provider of elemental harmony throughout your being,
Your cosmic hug.
Invite your spirit to guide you to continue to live in this openness of elemental harmony so you can continue to awaken further into the awareness of yourself as spirit and soul,
A belonging child of the universe,
Fully alive,
Walking between the worlds with you as you walk and live for a time in this world.
And take another moment just to feel a sense of gratitude for your experience.
And then breathe this feeling back to the cosmos,
The well-ordered universe in appreciation.
And when you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes and return your focus completely and easily to the sacred space of your surroundings.
And allow yourself to see your surroundings as being sacred space.
You may wish to enjoy a large drink of water and then journal what is significant for you from this meditation and then return to your outer world refreshed,
Filled with gratitude and completely relaxed.

Wow! I loved this. So simple and profound: each breath I take is a gift from the universe. If I infuse my breath with love and kindness, then my exhale is a gift back to the universe. This meditation gave me a loving peacefulness that I can't explain. I will bookmark this and come back to it again!
