Before we begin,
I invite you to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible.
Fluff your pillows,
Adjust your body,
Make sure that there is nothing you can do to make yourself feel just a little cozier.
And once you're settled in,
We're going to begin by just consciously softening through the body,
Beginning at the very crown of the head,
Going down and releasing those busy thoughts,
Feeling the weight of the head on the pillow,
Softening through the face and the jaw,
Releasing all the muscles in the neck,
The shoulders,
The back body,
Allowing the breath to be soft as the chest and belly gently rises and falls.
Feel the lower back softening,
The hips and pelvis releasing,
And allow the legs to be very heavy,
Weighting down into the mattress beneath you.
Soften through the ankles,
Through the feet,
Tops of the feet,
The heels,
The arches,
The balls of the feet,
The big toes,
And all the little toes softening down.
Now take a gentle breath in and sigh out the mouth,
Releasing your day,
And begin to focus the mind on an image of you walking in a beautiful,
Natural surrounding.
It could be a forest or a beach.
Wherever you are,
Just envision yourself walking slowly,
Moving in this beautiful scene and feeling the perfect temperature on your skin,
Feeling the perfect calm as you take one unhurried step in front of the other,
Moving slowly in a direction toward complete relaxation and release.
Continuing to walk,
You begin to slow your pace even more,
Soaking in the beauty,
The nurturing sense of Mother Nature surrounding you.
You notice this area just ahead that looks so inviting,
A nice soft little area surrounded by trees,
A very secluded area,
That's just big enough for you to take a seat and even stretch out on the ground,
Surrounded by trees looking up at the sky,
Feeling your body just melting down into the surface beneath you,
The ground or grass or sand,
Soft against your skin,
And you feel a very gentle breeze,
And as you look up at the sky,
You begin to feel a release,
As though as you lay here,
Each breath is being carried,
Each exhale is being carried up into the cloud,
And each inhale is given to you as an opportunity to relax all the more,
And you are safe here,
You are protected,
You are connected to Mother Earth,
Apart from all the busyness of the world,
You have stillness,
She has given you this,
And you begin to feel it,
And you feel almost as though your body is sinking down even more,
An impression being made in the ground,
In the shape of your body,
And it's perfectly comfortable and perfectly nurturing,
And as you lie here,
In this cozy,
Concealed,
Safe and nurturing place,
You once again begin to soften the body even more,
Feeling from the top of the head,
Like a wave of relaxation,
Moving down the body,
Down the face and neck,
The chest and upper back,
The lower back and stomach,
The hips and pelvis,
The legs,
The ankles,
And as you breathe,
And as you melt into this beautiful sleep,
You feel connected to a sense of peace,
That is alive and available to you,
And this peace seems to just wash through the body,
With each breath,
And your stress just seems to release even more,
With each exhale,
Floating up to the sky,
And being absorbed by the clouds,
Now as you lie here,
You notice that you are perfectly warm,
And perfectly comfortable,
And the light around you is slowly softening,
As the sun begins to set,
The trees around you create a canopy,
Like a blanket over you,
Protecting you,
Keeping you,
Perfectly shaded,
Perfectly warm,
Perfectly protected,
And you begin to feel the heaviness of your body,
And the mind just releasing its grip,
Allowing you to drift down,
In,
To a restorative place,
Knowing that the surrounding is nurturing,
You are able to rest here,
In perfect trust,
Surrounded by the love of mother earth,
You are divinely supported and connected,
And you feel your body settling even more,
And your mind slowly,
And your body sinking,
In,
To restoration and rest,
And as you listen to the gentle sound,
You begin to feel a sense of release,
As you drift slowly,
Into sleep.
