Today we are going to notice all of the amazing things that we've done in our lives.
So often we forget all of our accomplishments and feel like we need to barrel forward constantly,
Never taking time to celebrate or understand all of the things that we've been able to live through and all of the goals that we've met and all of the relationships that we've cultivated.
So today I'd like you to sit with a nice tall spine and close your eyes and I'd like you to begin to bring to mind the things that you are proud of in your life.
What are the difficulties that you've overcome?
How have you shown resilience personally,
Professionally,
Relationally?
Bring to mind everything you can.
You may be proud of a art competition you won when you were in second grade or a difficulty that you've had that you've been able to overcome.
You may feel proud of a time when you stuck up for someone who needed help or called to check in when someone needed you.
Think about all the times that you've been challenged in life with pain or difficulties or things that seemed outright impossible and yet you moved forward.
You survived.
You found ways to continue to take one step and then the next.
Think about as many examples as you can from childhood to adulthood,
All of the positive decisions you've made.
Even if things didn't work out quite the way you wanted them to,
Just begin to think about all the things that you started with a positive intention.
And as you do that,
You'll be able to move forward.
Just begin to think about all the things that you started with a positive intention.
And as you begin to allow these memories to surface,
Allow a gentle smile to cross your face and just give yourself gratitude for showing up,
For surviving,
For moving forward,
For taking the time right here and now to remember your strength.
It is from this place of remembering our strength that we have a more holistic version of ourselves in our heads.
It's so easy to be critical or remember our failings or our faults,
But to truly remember that we have so many things to be proud of,
So many things to be so many times when we showed up the way we wanted to,
Is to know that we can move forward,
Sometimes despite all odds against us.
And while we cannot control the outside world,
What we can do is remember our strength.
No matter what's happening around us,
Feeling steady and strong and supported by every positive thing that we've done,
Knowing that we can do this again,
We can do things that we never thought imaginable.
So sit in this knowing,
Breathe into this knowing,
Breathe into your strength,
Breathe into this gratitude for self and trust that your next step is one that you will take from a place of strength and integrity and so much confidence.
Now gently blink your eyes open,
Allow that smile to return to your face or remain on your face.
And as you move forward,
Just remember your strength.
Thank you for practicing with me.
