Thank you for joining me for this short meditation.
This meditation is designed to give you a quick confidence boost and may be particularly beneficial before a big event or a presentation or anything where you feel like you may be a little bit nervous.
So find a comfortable seat and ensure that your spine is tall your chin is tucked slightly so the back of the neck is long.
Now close your eyes and just take a moment to check in with yourself today.
Offer yourself some gratitude for slowing down,
For connecting with your breath and taking a moment to remember your strength,
Remember your center.
Now begin to breathe a little bit deeper inhaling to a count of four.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Holding and exhaling.
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
One more round like that.
Inhale,
Hold and exhale.
Now see if you can continue that four count breath on your own.
Just inhaling to a count of four,
Holding for about the same length of time and then exhaling for a count of four.
Go ahead and get the rhythm of this breath and allow the breath to reach all the way down into the lower belly,
Filling the belly,
Expanding the ribs,
Broadening the collarbone and as you release you release in the chest and then the belly.
So as we breathe here,
Begin to bring to mind a loved one,
A previous or current mentor,
Someone who thinks highly of you and ask yourself what would that person say your attributes are.
They may say you're sensitive and kind,
That you're confident,
That you're gentle,
That you have a lot of energy,
Whatever it is just bring a few of those attributes to mind.
Thinking about yourself the way that someone else sees you.
Begin to attach I am to this list.
I am empathetic,
I am a fabulous teacher,
I am strong,
I am a survivor.
Begin to breathe those I ams,
Inhaling to a count of four and reciting I am,
Holding with that thought and then releasing,
Inhaling I am,
Holding with the thought and then releasing.
Continue to breathe and meditate on these positive attributes.
Remembering your strength,
Remembering what you've survived,
What you've overcome,
Remembering how you've gotten to where you've gotten in your life,
Remembering your reason,
Your motivation for moving forward.
Breathing in I am holding that affirmation and releasing.
For this last minute I want you to sit up even taller,
Lift your chin slightly,
Sit proud like royalty,
The best version of you.
Continue to breathe deep and release the affirmations and simply sit in your body feeling your strength,
Allowing these affirmations to circle throughout your system.
Now take a really deep breath in through the nose and release through the mouth.
Two more like that to seal the practice in through the nose and release through the mouth.
One more inhale deep as you can and release.
Beautiful job.
Now gently blink your eyes open.
Continuing to sit tall,
Just notice any shifts in your energy.
Roll your shoulders up,
Back and down three times.
I wish you well in remembering your strength,
Remembering all of your positive attributes and allowing them to carry you forward and bring your best self to the day ahead.
Beautiful job.
