This course is for everyone, whether you are interested in releasing fear or anxious thoughts or just want to view your life and reality through a new lens. Writing, reframing & meditation helps us to gain objectivity on our lives and better see the beauty all around us. Through a sequence of exercises, we will awaken or reawaken our positive creative energy in order to cultivate more self-awareness and recognize our full potential, which lies beyond worry. Using a variety of short creative exercises, affirmations, & visualizations, we will go on a personal creative journey. Each day will ask you to look at your life in a slightly different way.


Meet your Teacher

The co-owner of Unleash Creatives, a holistic arts organization, Jen Knox is an educator and storyteller who teaches writing, leadership, and meditation. After earning her BA from Otterbein and MFA from Bennington in Creative Nonfiction, Jen went on to work in the nonprofit world where she directed a writers-in-communities program that supported at-risk populations to find and share their voice and use writing as a tool to explore difficult subjects on the page. While teaching creative writing to adults and children for over a decade and leveraging her community experience to teach leadership and personal empowerment at The Ohio State University, Jen also earned her 200hr Teaching Certification through Uplifted™ Yoga YTT and her KYT from RaMa Institute. She began studying meditation techniques with various instructors around the world and ultimately began to combine her passion for creative expression and leadership with mindfulness practices.

Lesson 1

Thoughts On Worry & Fear

So many of us have danced with worry for much of our lives in various contexts and we are told to let things go or live in the moment, but it doesn’t always feel so simple. Sometimes anxious thoughts and worry can be pervasive. Sometimes we even rationalize that our worries are well-founded. They make logical sense. And yet, it is clear that to worry will not change the future for the better. We are far better equipped to meet challenges and joys alike when we feel balanced and loving. On Meeting Anxious Thoughts With Love

In the first session, we looked at a worst-case scenario. Today, I’d like you to develop appreciation for what you have right now. In this moment. Because anxiety is based on a prediction, and predictions are never fully accurate, some of the best medicine is to simply get present.

Today, we'll seal our practice with practical tools that we can take forward. We will discuss reframing, cultivating the opposite, and techniques to take off the meditation cushion.

Wow! I did the 3 classes on the same day, one after the other, and it was amazing!
