Shema: Old Testament Prayers
The Shema is the daily declaration of faith, typically recited with the morning and evening prayers. This piece - recited in Hebrew, then English - is direct scripture from the Old Testament: Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (although the full Shema collection is much longer). Hear (and listen) Israel, the LORD is our God, The LORD is one. (Blessed is the Name of his glorious kingdom for all eternity.) You shall love the LORD, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your resources.
