Leçon 1
Introduction: Are You Aware Of Your Self-Talk?
This meditation is an introduction to this voice in our head, this self-talk that seems to be incessantly going on. We ease into this contemplation with this question from the author, Deepak Ramola, "What part of you do you speak to when you talk to yourself?" We explore the precursor to this question viz. "How do you speak to when you talk to yourself?" because that is where the crux of our suffering lies.
This introduction unravels a lot of intricate details about how we handle this voice in our heads!
Leçon 2
Contemplation: How Does This Voice Rules Over Our Lives?
In this contemplation, we study the role of this self-talk that plays in our lives usually narrating mundane events, judging mistakes, and criticizing other people. It is one of the biggest misery creators in our lives: bitterness, judgments, self-hate, or just white noise.
The reason it creates this misery is that we believe what is being said.
- What if we stopped believing it?
- What if we 'saw' that what is being said is not true?
- What if we recognized that this is just a habit - not an identity?
- What if we took power from this voice?
This contemplation is designed to spray insight and wisdom on this unconscious aspect of our lives to start dissolving it.
Leçon 3
The Solution: Understanding The Voice In Our Head!
This is a longer meditation summarizing the first two lessons and then nudging us into a deeper aspect of the understanding about this phenomenon. This is a potent exploration into understanding this "voice" in our heads that seems to be pestering us and "making" us suffer. We desperately want to quiet it, win over it, shut it up.
However, before we try and get rid of it, what do we know about this voice? Whose voice is it? Where does it come from?
This meditation gets to the heart of these questions and finds a way out of it. It takes the freedom from the voice and puts it back where it belongs viz. with you.
It has a lot of nuggets to give us guidance on how to reduce the suffering from our self-talk!
