Joanne has spent her life devoted to the practice of prayer, meditation, and the deeper teachings of yoga. From an early age, she felt a natural connection to the stillness within, which led her to study Raja Yoga as given in the Sutras by Patanjali and the Eight Limbs of Yoga. She began her journey with Hatha Yoga, and over time, was drawn more deeply into the spiritual and philosophical foundations of the practice. For over forty years, she has taught yoga and meditation while continuing to be a student herself. She is the founder of the Shraddha Yoga Centre in Melbourne, Australia, where she teaches regularly and leads annual meditation retreats. She believes wholeheartedly that with prayer and meditation, we can live happier, healthier, and more connected lives. Her work is deeply inspired by the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. His writings continue to guide her path and enrich her understanding of what it means to live a truly spiritual life. Here on Insight Timer, she has shared guided meditations and courses to support others on their journey. She has also written Peaceful Living with Prayer and Meditation, a book that weaves together the practices and insights that have shaped her life.
