Meet your Teacher

Zachary Phillips is a psychotherapist, meditation instructor, author, and poet. He is also a qualified teacher, Reiki master, and is currently studying for a Master of Counselling. In these roles, he helps people identify and release the limiting beliefs that no longer serve them, guiding them from surviving to passionately thriving using tips, tools, and techniques that enable them to process the past, accept the present, and embrace the future with positivity and purpose.

Know Your Why

State your reason why. Why do you want to get up earlier? If you know your why (and write it down/refer to it), you are far more likely to be successful in your goal. Lesson 2

One Minute Per Day

If you want to wake earlier, go slow. Set your alarm clock for one minute earlier every day until you finally reach your waking goal. Go slow; that way, your body, mind, and habits will be able to comfortably adapt.

Sleep Cycles & You

Once you see the impact of waking earlier, you may want to jump to an earlier wake time. In this video, we talk about the impact of sleep cycles and how to best use that knowledge to determine how much earlier to set the clock.

Lesson 4

Just Get Up

There is something to be said about straight willpower combined with the power of priming. If you set a goal to wake and rise as the alarm sounds instantly, you will start to be able to do so. For one month, simply rise.

Goal Setting

If you have a goal, you are more motivated to achieve it. If you know your why, your life goal/purpose, you will be far more motivated to rise early so that you can achieve it. Set your why, share it, and wake to achieve it.

Lesson 6

Get Tired

Allow yourself to get tired during the day. Doing so will help you fall asleep more easily at night. You will sleep more deeply and be able to wake earlier. You just need to first address the fear of being tired. It is okay, you will be fine!

Optional Class Project + Conclusion

Congratulations on completing the course! Waking up earlier is built through purpose, consistency, and small, sustainable changes.
