Welcome to the intuitive body scan.
This meditation is designed to accompany the exploring intuition course here on Insight Timer,
But can be done on its own as well.
So the first thing to do is to get yourself into the right state to perform the scan.
This is slightly different from a mindful body scan,
Although we will be being mindful,
Or from a relaxing body scan.
Your intention here is to be aware of what's going on in your body and to just recognise those parts of your experience which you can't explain.
So before we start,
Just be aware of what you've brought with you today.
Any thoughts or stories,
Any sensations or emotions.
And if you think that any of those might interfere with the intuitive body scan or simply not be useful in this moment,
Then you can invite them to leave now.
Coming into yourself in the present,
Aware of your body,
Aware of your breathing.
And we're going now to scan very quickly down the body from head to toe.
And so what you'll be doing is reaching out for any sensation,
Noticing any emotion.
And also if you're somebody who works easily with visualisation,
You can imagine your body as a kind of light body,
You'll actually see what you're experiencing as we scan down the body.
So bringing your attention now in this search for sensation,
Any emotion and visual change to the crown of your head.
Coming down through your head,
To your neck,
Shoulders,
Palms,
Torso,
Heart space,
Gut,
Hips and pelvic area,
Thighs,
Calves,
Feet.
And as you scan down your body there,
Was there anywhere which called your attention?
It might be that it felt different in sensation or emotion.
That the quality of the light was different as you visualised your body.
It may be just that you got stuck there.
Go to that area now.
And just notice.
Explore.
What is happening here?
And if you've done this scan to try to really understand your reaction to a particular situation.
Bring that situation to mind now or allow yourself to be aware of the situation.
Retaining in your awareness the part of the body which called your attention.
And again just notice what's happening.
Explore the feedback that you're receiving.
And if you like you can ask your inner self now.
If there's any more information it would like to communicate to you.
Just remaining present.
And remain with this for a while longer.
Start to assign meaning just noticing what is happening within you.
What your intuitive reaction is.
And then when you're ready you can let go of that noticing.
Becoming aware once again of your body.
Of your breathing.
And of anything which you bring with you out of this quick scan.
This ends the intuitive body scan.
