We can see our being as similar to that of an ocean. An ocean has the surface, the waves, which is always moving to some degree, and it has depths where there is stillness, power and beauty. The world of thought is similar to the surface of the ocean, often being blown here and there by high winds and storms. Living in the mind (thoughts) is not conducive to a life of ease and beauty. What we need is to dive into the depths of the ocean, into Presence. That is where you find the true purpose of your life and the joy you have been seeking. Please Note: Suryacitta doesn't use notes and therefore the sessions themselves are not so particularly structured. He prefers to keep it this way. This allows him to keep it fresh and alive and to be open to "in the moment" inspiration which enables him to use metaphors, images and stories.


Meet your Teacher

Suryacitta has been practising meditation since 1989 and was ordained into a Buddhist Order in 1999. He is the author of five books on meditation, happiness and compassion. He runs retreats, courses and workshops in the UK, Europe and Australia. He is also known as the teacher's teacher, running teacher training courses for anybody wanting to teach mindfulness and meditation more intuitively. He lives in Leicestershire UK with his wife Gaynor and their Border Collie, Bankei - 10.000 blessings.

We are convinced that we are not good enough and that life as it is, is also not good enough. This search though necessary for a while never brings the peace or happiness we seek. One of the most blessed events in our life is to finally be free of the tyranny of thought, or rather over thinking. Getting Off The Ghost Train

Most of us spend far too much time living in the mental realm. When we live here (in mind) we are forever going on emotional rides which create psychological suffering, such as anxiety, worry etc. During this session we explore not only how to get off these rides, but how to stop accepting these thought created fantasies and to relax into presence. Prioritising Presence

Many of us rush through the day, often lost in a haze of activity and unaware of the world around us. We prioritise mind/thoughts and all the anxieties and worries which come with that. Instead we can begin to prioritise presence during our days and enjoy the wonder which that brings. Come and learn how to prioritise presence in your life and not worry and anxiety. We begin this session with a meditation and then a short talk.

The instructor is a bit wordy, saying a lot without saying much of anything at all. This was an okay course for an absolute beginner, with much less value for the experienced practitioner. There were a few very good images to illustrate ideas (E.g., whirlpools in the stream of life, and the blank screen that remains when the movie is over), but they were few and far between. I found myself itching to ge to the point, and wishing this course was 5 episodes rather than ten. A lesson in patience, I suppose.
