Lesson 1
What Presence Is
Presence is undeniable, you have to be present to read this. Presence in the way Suryacitta talks about it is your true nature, it is your real home. Presence is your sense of aliveness right now.
This presence, this aliveness initially doesn’t feel like much, but once we meet somebody who can show you how to fall in love with presence, you realise that your own presence is what you have always been looking for. It is The Beloved you have been seeking. There will be a talk and meditation on presence

Lesson 2
The Never Ending Train Journey To Somewhere Better
As infants we were naturally present, we didn’t need all these teachings and to go on endless retreats. However, as we grow we become more oriented to thinking than being.
At some point we see all the adults around us and believe they have life sorted, after all they are adults. It’s like they are all on this train journey to Somewhere Better so what do we do, we get on that train too. The only problem is that the destination called Somewhere Better doesn’t exist. This is It!
There is a teaching and meditation on coming home to presence

Lesson 3
Falling In Love With Presence
No matter how hard we try, irrespective of how strong our intention or desire to stop over thinking, we tend to remain captivated by all the stories and worries the mind creates.
This session and indeed the whole course is dedicated to this one shift from head to heart, from living in past and future to falling madly in love with presence and relishing in the the joy and peace it brings.
There will be a short, simple, direct teaching followed by a guided meditation and a technique for daily life when caught in thought.
There is a teaching a technique for over thinking and a meditation on becoming familiar with presence

Lesson 4
Dancing With Dragons - Working with Difficult Emotions
We all have difficult emotions, even the most enlightened of us have them too, they just don’t make a problem out of them. By means of a meditation we will explore what it means in real practical terms to welcome and to be at ease with feelings and emotions such as sadness, anger, resentment, anxiety, loneliness and every other emotion. Instead of turning away from our emotions or trying to get rid of them what we need to do is to feel them, and feeling them is healing them.
There is a teaching and a meditation on befriending difficult emotions

Lesson 5
Grandmother Mind And The Art Of Complete Acceptance
We all want to accept who we are and be at peace with ourselves, yet many of us seem to find this so difficult. Starting with a delightful story from his own childhood Suryacitta shows us how in very simple doable terms how we can move toward a life of acceptance rather than resistance.
There is a meditation on acceptance and a teaching.

Lesson 6
How To Quieten The Critical Voice In Your Head
Many of us have a voice in the head which comments, judges and criticises nearly all day long. The critical judging voice is the cause of much anxiety and unhappiness. We take this voice to be telling us the truth about life, other people and of course ourselves. Listening to this voice all day long prevents us from resting in presence and the joy that brings, but it also prevents us from listening to our intuitive voice, which whispers its wisdom. Here well explore how to start listening to life, rather than the voice.
There will be a teaching, a further exploration of a technique for overthinking and a meditation on resting in presence

Lesson 7
The Ocean And The Wave
Imagine living in a small boat on the ocean. Even on the calmest of days there is always movement, it would be a restless, upsetting experience. This is analogous to living in the world of thought. Now imagine diving deep to the depths of the ocean, where lies beauty, life, silence, stillness and power. This is analogous to presence. The innate qualities of presence are stillness, beauty, life and peacefulness. Where do you want to live?
There is a teaching and a meditation on living in the depths

Lesson 8
Living The Embodied Life
James Joyce once wrote, “Mr Duffy lived a short distance from his body.” I think this is true for so many of us living today. In a sense we are out of touch with our body being fixated with our virtual thought made world. Living an embodied life is learning to create inner space so that we can welcome and embrace the whole of our inner experience with honesty, courage and love.
There will be a short talk, a technique on pausing and a meditation on being embodied at home in the body.

Lesson 9
From Drama To No Drama - From Unhappiness To Happiness
When we live in mind, in thought, our lives are full of personal drama. We then strive to manage life so that we get the drama we think will make us happy. This is not only very tiring but also ultimately impossible. Happiness is experienced when we realise that our true nature, presence is already whole, complete and happy. However, and this has been Suryacitta's, we gradually become less fixated with mental drama and fall in love with presence, which is true and lasting happiness.
There is a teaching and a meditation on listening to silence

Lesson 10
Living In Presence - Moving From Self Centred Living To Life Centred living
As we let go more and more of living in the virtual world of thought and more in presence a shift takes place. A shift that is so profound, ordinary and familiar that we think to ourselves how did I ever take the world of thought to be the real world.
This shirt is the greatest blessing. It is a shift from self centred to being life centred. No longer are we immersed in our personal drama but free to enjoy life, being carefree.
There is a talk and a mountain meditation.
