Hello,
I'm going to guide you through a five minute morning meditation.
This is a meditation on waking up in the morning.
Quite often we wake up and we go into our head and we decide what type of day it's going to be.
But what wants your attention is your being in your body.
So we're going to spend five minutes just tuning into the body on waking in the morning.
So listen to this a few times then practice this without the guidance.
So waking up,
You're opening your eyes,
You're sensing the world,
The bed,
Perhaps the warmth,
Consciousness is coming forth.
And instead of getting out of bed,
Start to tune in.
Just feel the drowsiness,
The half-awakefulness.
Tune into your mood.
No need to judge it,
Just tune into it,
Just feel it.
Your mood may have been affected by your dreams.
Sense your body surrendering to the surface.
Slowly the body comes back into focus into awareness.
Just feel it.
Hello body.
Notice any sounds that are happening.
Don't go into your head just yet.
Come back into your body.
This half-awake body.
You just enjoy these few moments,
Not rushing.
Just lying here.
If you realize you don't feel very good,
Just welcome it.
Welcome everything.
Maybe a low mood.
Feel a little afraid of what's to come during the day.
Just feel it,
Just welcome it.
You may feel rested and content.
Welcome it.
Treat all your feelings with respect.
You don't know what today is going to bring.
Just be this moment,
Feeling the body.
The day will unfold in its own sweet way.
What's here now?
Just opening to whatever's present.
Feel your head resting on the pillow,
Hands by your side.
Starting the day with a little internal attention.
Saying hello to your being,
Your body.
You don't rush here.
Then when the time is right,
You can bring this informal meditation to a close and then move on with your day in a calm and serene manner.
Thank you.
