Welcome.
Thank you for joining me for this live EFT session.
Focused on calming anxiety.
Wherever you're joining in from it in the world.
I appreciate you showing up today.
We're going to be here for around 15 minutes,
15,
20 minutes,
Something like that.
So I hope that's okay for you.
If you're in a quiet space where you can speak freely,
That's fantastic because you can use your own words as we're tapping and replace some of my words.
If you are in the presence of other people but you have headphones in,
That's okay.
Say the words quietly or say them to yourself and you can still tap,
You know,
Why not?
We're just showing people how to do it.
And sharing it with others.
Let's begin by setting an intention.
To close your eyes.
Place your hands over your heart space.
And take a deep breath in.
And gently exhale.
Take another breath.
And slowly exhale.
To bring your awareness to your body.
Notice any areas of tension or discomfort.
Where might the anxiety be sitting?
Quite often I hear with my clients it sits in their chest.
It could be in their throat,
Sometimes people have it in their stomach.
It's very personal to you.
There is no right or wrong answer.
Just make note of it.
You don't need to fix anything right now.
Just notice.
You're in a safe space and we're going to feel it and release it together.
Today we're going to do some tapping.
Maybe you're aware of EFT already or this is your first time.
If so,
Welcome.
EFT or emotional freedom techniques involves tapping on meridian points in the body while focusing on a particular emotion.
It helps regulate the nervous system and calm the stress response.
I'll guide you step by step,
I'll call out the points as we go,
So you can just follow me,
It doesn't matter if you're totally new to this.
We'll take it nice and slowly.
So to start with.
.
.
Tune into your body.
Notice how it feels.
Where are you holding any tension right now?
Maybe you're starting the week feeling a little anxious.
It's pretty early on the west coast right now.
I'm here in Hastings in the UK.
It's two o'clock in the afternoon.
I don't know if we've got anybody who's here later than that in the evening,
But welcome if so.
So we just want to notice how we're feeling.
And give it a rating of 0-10.
With 10 being the highest,
How anxious do you feel right now?
And it's okay to bring awareness to it.
I know sometimes we panic and we think,
Oh God,
I've got to push it down,
Push it away.
We can't think or feel it.
But the point with EFT is that we do allow ourselves to feel and think these sensations in our body,
But because we're tapping on the meridian points,
We are regulating the nervous system.
We're always staying in this regulated parasympathetic state,
Which allows us to bring forward these sensations,
These emotions and talk about them and feel safe while we're doing it.
So I can see some new people have just joined.
Hi,
Welcome.
We've just been going through having a little breathe,
Thinking about how we feel in the body.
Just getting ready to start doing some tapping.
So,
As I was saying,
Just follow along with me.
You don't need to know anything if you've not come before.
We're just going to take it really steady.
To begin with,
We're going to tap and breathe through the points.
That's all we're going to do.
So tap on the side of the hand.
This is where we always start with our setup statement.
But for now,
We're just going to take a considered breath.
And release.
Take one more breath in.
Hold.
One more breath.
And release.
We're going to tap through the points.
Just breathing,
We're just grounding into our bodies.
Okay,
Eyebrow.
Side of eye.
Under the eye.
Under the nose.
On the chin.
Collarbone.
And you'll notice sometimes I use one hand.
Sometimes I use the other hand,
Whichever feels good to you.
You can use both.
When we do some points,
You can use one.
It's perfectly fine.
Under the arm.
This is about where the top of your bra strap is,
Or this many fingers if you can see that,
Four fingers underneath your armpit.
Either side.
And then tapping the top of the head and breathing.
Alright,
So we're going to start doing our tapping.
You can repeat the words after me,
Tapping on the side of the hand.
Replace the words if something more resonant comes up for you.
We want it to be as specific as possible.
Or just use mine for now and see how it feels.
Even though I feel this anxiety.
I accept myself and how I feel.
Even though I feel this anxiety in my body.
And it feels overwhelming.
I choose to accept myself.
Even though this anxiety feels so intense.
I choose to be open to releasing it now.
Okay,
Tapping through the points.
Eyebrow.
This anxious feeling.
Side of I.
It's only the start of the week and I feel it already.
Under the eye.
It's hard to slow down.
Under the nose.
I feel overwhelmed.
Chin.
There's so much on my mind.
Collarbone.
This anxiety is heavy.
Under the arm.
I want to let it go but it's hard.
Top of the head.
I am acknowledging this anxious energy.
Even though I don't like it.
Eyebrow.
This anxiety feels so strong.
Side of I.
I feel it in my mind and my body.
Under the eye.
It's like a storm I can't control.
Under the nose.
My thoughts feel overwhelming.
To the mouth and the chin.
It's hard to focus or feel grounded.
Collarbone This stress is making me feel stuck.
Now for anyone who's not aware,
When I say collarbone,
I actually mean the bone to the end,
Down an inch,
Out an inch,
And it's the tender spot which is either side there.
That's what we're aiming for.
The stress is making me feel stuck.
Under the arm.
I feel it in my.
.
.
Throat.
Just note where you feel it and say it out loud.
Top of the head.
This overwhelming anxiety.
Let's keep going.
Eyebrow is okay to feel anxious right now.
Side of I.
I'm acknowledging these feelings without judgment.
Under the eye.
What if this anxiety has a purpose?
Under the nose.
Maybe it's just trying to keep me safe.
Into the mouth on the chin.
But I don't need this much alarm.
Hollow bone.
Even though it feels uncomfortable,
I know I can handle this.
Under the arm.
I honour my feelings but they don't define me.
Top of the head.
This is just energy moving through my body.
Okay,
Let's take a pause.
And that energy can move in all sorts of ways.
You may find yourself yawning.
That's a very common one.
I love it when clients yawn because it shows the energy shifting.
And that's what we want.
You might sneeze,
Cough,
Stretch,
All sorts of things.
So it's all totally normal.
So just take a deep breath,
Check in with the body,
How are you feeling?
What rating would you give it now?
Feel free to share in the comments if you wish.
You can perhaps note where you were when you started,
Where you are now.
And also,
Just to note,
It doesn't have to go down.
Sometimes when we start focusing on it and shining a spotlight,
It might even go up a little bit,
But we haven't finished tapping yet,
So you're okay.
Alright.
Let's keep tapping on the side of the hand.
Even though I still feel anxious.
I am open to letting this anxiety soften.
Even though it feels a lot.
I am choosing to feel safe.
Even with these anxious feelings.
I'm open to being present.
Tapping through the points.
Eyebrow.
My body is just trying to keep me safe.
Side of the eye,
But I allow my nervous system to soften.
Under the eye,
I can hold myself kindly.
And the nose.
What if I give myself permission to feel calm?
In the chin.
It's safe to slow down now.
Collarbone.
I am allowed to feel safe.
Under the arm.
I'm beginning to feel lighter.
Top of the head.
I release the tension in my body.
Eyebrow.
Letting go of the tension in my Fill in the gap.
Side of I,
I release these racing thoughts.
Under the eye.
It's safe to let go of the overwhelm.
Under the nose.
And release what no longer serves me.
Chin.
I am breathing out this anxiety with every exhale.
I am creating space for calm and peace.
Under the arm.
I choose calm and relaxation now.
Top of the head.
I feel my breath slowing down.
Eyebrow.
I'm inviting a sense of safety into my body.
Side of I.
I am grounded and present in this moment.
Under the eye.
I am letting peace flow through me.
Onto the nose.
I am calm,
I am safe,
I am at ease.
I trust that I can handle anything that comes my way.
Collarbone.
I am in control of my life.
Under the arm.
I choose to know that I am enough just as I am.
Top of their head and that I can do this.
Last round,
Eyebrow.
This day may have surprises in store for me.
Side of eye.
But whatever happens,
I give myself permission to be present.
Under the eye,
To see every moment as an opportunity.
Under the nose.
I am choosing to know that I can handle whatever opportunities may arise today.
The chin.
And it's okay if I don't do everything perfectly.
Imagine that I Colobo,
I allow myself to be who I am.
Under the arm to show up authentically and be me.
Top of their head.
The most brilliant version I can imagine.
Okay,
Back to the side of the hand.
I am grateful for this moment of calm.
I release all anxiety and replace it with trust and peace.
I choose to carry this sense of calm with me throughout the day.
Now to finish I'm just going to come back to the collarbone point.
This is one of my favourite spots and you can either do it bilaterally like this if you ever need to.
Can do it with one hand,
Both hands,
It's just such a wonderful grounding spot.
So just to end.
Today is a new day.
This week is a new week.
And I am choosing to embrace it fully.
I choose to feel safe in my body.
And know that I am enough.
Just as I am.
Okay,
Stop tapping,
Place your hands over your heart space,
Breathe in.
Yawn,
Stretch,
Do whatever your body feels like it needs to do right now How are you feeling?
Check in with your rating,
Whatever it was before.
What is it now?
Has it come down?
I'd love to know if you want to share it in the comments.
Thank you for the hearts,
That's very kind.
