Welcome.

Find a comfortable space to sit or stand and gently close your eyes.

Take a few deep breaths,

Allowing your body to settle into this moment.

We're going to tap together on the experience of shock,

Whether it's from bad news,

An unexpected request or an upsetting situation.

As we begin,

Allow any thoughts or feelings to surface.

Acknowledge them.

Let them come up and then surrender to them,

Releasing any tension or resistance.

The practice of tapping is incredibly powerful.

It moves the energy through our bodies.

You might experience a yawn,

Tears or even the urge to stretch.

That's all completely normal.

Go ahead and let those responses happen as they need to.

I'll guide you through the tapping points and you can repeat the words after me or feel free to use your own words if they resonate more deeply with you.

Let's get started.

Tapping on the side of the hand.

Even though I'm feeling shocked and overwhelmed by what just happened,

I deeply and completely accept myself.

Even though this sudden news or situation has shaken me,

I choose to honour my feelings in this moment.

And even though I don't know what to do with this shock,

I trust that I can release it.

Starting with the eyebrow point.

I don't know how to deal with what's happening right now.

Staying here,

It feels like everything just came crashing in.

Side of eye.

I feel confused and overwhelmed by what's just happened.

Under the eye,

I'm feeling anxious and unsettled.

It's hard to breathe deeply right now.

Under the nose,

This news has caught me off guard.

I don't know how to react.

My mind is trying to make sense of everything but it's so hard right now.

The chin,

It feels like I've been thrown off balance.

But I'm okay right here,

Right now.

Collarbone,

I acknowledge how overwhelmed I feel but I choose to know that I can handle it.

Under the arm,

It's okay to not have all the answers right now.

I am safe in this moment even with these intense emotions.

Top of the head,

I am allowing the shock to move through me.

It's okay to experience this.

Coming back to the eyebrow point,

I choose to let go of the shock bit by bit.

I'm releasing the tension I've been holding in my body.

Side of the eye,

I'm starting to feel a little more grounded and I'm open to this energy shifting.

Under the eye,

I'm letting go of the overwhelming feelings and choose to embrace calm.

On the chin,

I trust that I can handle this in my own time.

On the collarbone,

I am safe and I'm open to coping with what's happened.

Under the arm,

I am releasing any resistance to what's happened and I'm making space for calm and clarity.

Top of the head,

I choose to feel more grounded in this moment,

More centered,

Relaxed and peaceful.

Going back to the side of the hand,

Tapping here,

Even though I felt shocked and overwhelmed,

I now choose to embrace calm and even though this situation threw me off,

I choose to return to a place of peace and even though I don't have all the answers,

I trust that I will find clarity in time.

Eyebrow point,

I feel my body calming down and I trust that I can process everything with time.

Side of the eye,

I'm feeling more at ease now.

I'm feeling stronger and more resilient with every breath.

Under the eye,

I trust that I can handle this situation and I'm able to stay calm and centered.

Under the nose,

I choose to focus on what I can control.

On the chin,

I am regaining my sense of balance.

On the collarbone point,

I choose to be grounded and present.

Staying here for a moment,

I trust that I have the strength to face whatever comes next.

I feel confident in my ability to handle whatever arises.

Moving to under the arm,

I am creating space for calm,

Clarity and peace and I release any remaining shock.

Top of the head,

I am calm,

Centered and grounded and I trust in my ability to handle anything that comes my way.

Stop tapping,

Take a deep breath,

Place your hands over your heart space if you like.

Notice how your body feels.

Is it lighter,

More centered,

More at peace?

Let go of any remaining tension and trust that you are capable of handling whatever comes your way.

You are safe,

You are strong and you have the power to process and move through any shock with ease.

Repeat this as necessary and save this audio for those moments where life tries to knock us off track,

Because it will,

But that's okay.

You're doing this already and you're handling your own stress levels in your body.

I wish you well.
