A short eleven-minute guided meditation where Silas walks you through finding the natural calmness in this very moment through the breath. A great practice to do when you need to reconnect and touch back to this very moment in the most basic and simple way possible, by just seeing it right there through the breath.

Welcome to Finding Calm.

I'm Silas Day and I hope I will be a good guide on your meditative journey today.

Let's start today's session by finding a comfortable position like we do with every meditation.

A tall back,

Not taut but not too loose,

Allowing your arms to rest gently wherever they are comfortable,

Whether we are sitting,

Lying,

Standing,

Or in a chair.

You may keep your eyes open or you may keep them closed.

Once you're ready,

Bring your full attention to this very moment.

Settling into it.

Relaxing into it.

But keeping your wits about you.

Letting the mind and the body to sit in relaxed concentration.

With the spirit of patience,

One of curiosity,

One of openness,

And one of conscious awareness,

Bring your attention to the breath.

Feel the chest rise and fall.

Feel the belly rise and fall.

A deep breath in and releasing it fully.

Using that breath as a center of attention and awareness as it flows in and out of your body.

If you find yourself breathing shallowly,

Allow yourself to breathe shallowly.

If you find yourself breathing deeply,

Allow yourself to breathe deeply.

If you're somewhere in between,

Well,

Then let yourself be somewhere in between.

Don't judge the breath.

Don't judge the body.

Don't judge the character or quality of your practice in this moment.

Just let it be whatever it wants to be,

And that will lead you to exactly where you are right here and right now.

If you find that you've lost the breath and are following some thought,

Feeling,

Mood,

Whatever it is,

Just come back to it.

Don't judge the mind.

Don't judge yourself.

This is as much the practice as anything else.

Where you're at,

What you're doing,

No matter the context,

Just this.

Feel the mind relax.

Let the body relax.

Let them be as they are in this presence of the moment,

And in it,

Touch your natural calmness.

Stay with it,

Come back to it,

And recognize it without judgment,

Without harshness.

Just being here.

Affairs.
