Stoic Meditations of Marcus Aurelius - by Silas Day

COURSE

Stoic Meditations of Marcus Aurelius

With Silas Day

One of the key books of Stoicism is the personal diary and writings of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Within its pages contain the deeply personal reflections of a philosopher king from almost two thousand years ago that were never meant to be seen. Through this course, we shall cover ten of its twelve chapters, looking into the themes, ideas, and concepts it presents and just how it can help us in life whether we are the Emperor of Rome or an average everyday individual trying to be the best we can in the modern day world.

Silas Day opens to the listener the teachings of Marcus Aurelius in a most approachable way, and by encouraging the reading of the original text inspires one to go deeper and further with her interest in living a wise and virtuous life. Silas delivers his message with a thoughtful and compassionate voice that is both soothing and motivational.

Dollar had a soft and relaxing voice, East to listen to. He does a good job summarizing the chapters of Marcus Aurelius and also wisely shared some words directly from the book. I like his Buddhist background also.
