Welcome.
Our meditation this morning is on the goddess.
Please be sure you are in a comfortable position.
Hips are supported and elevated so that the spine can remain tall.
Let your hands rest comfortably in your lap or on your thighs and let's rest the hands in a gesture of reception or receptivity with the palms face up.
To begin,
Please bring awareness to your breath and more specifically to your breath moving in and out of your nostrils.
There's no need to overly shape the breath.
The simple witnessing of the breath as it ascends up the nostrils and descends down the nostrils is enough to help initially sharpen your focus.
And then once you feel that your breath has smoothed out,
Follow your breath more specifically so that it ends on inhale at that space between your eyebrows and then watch the breath move back down from that space to the tip of your nostrils.
And we'll continue to watch the breath ascending up the nostrils,
Meeting at that place between your eyebrows,
Your third eye center,
And back down to the tip of the nostrils.
A few more cycles.
Now please rest awareness at that space between your eyebrows.
Your eyes are soft and it's a more internal gaze or inner awareness that rests here at your third eye space.
Now please move awareness to the inside of your forehead.
And depending on how you see,
How awareness shapes itself,
You may be looking forward toward your forehead or you may be seeing more toward the back,
Your midbrain.
Both are just as good as the other or one is just as good as the other.
Don't force.
And then through the darkness,
Begin to see or sense a shimmering sea or body of water.
The time of day is completely up to you.
And then see or sense yourself sitting on a soft bed of moss facing the sea.
Feel the moss,
Its smoothness,
Hear the water,
The small waves lapping at the shore.
And then from your right,
You see a figure approaching.
Her skin has a dark blue tint.
Her hair is dark as twilight,
Wavy and soft,
Knowing eyes.
And she takes a seat on your right side.
Feel her there beside you as you both gaze out at the sea and feel yourself connected to this woman,
To the sea itself,
So much that every time a thought passes through your mind,
It becomes a ripple of water or a wave on the sea.
The waves represent your thoughts.
And feel this calming presence next to you.
Softening your thoughts,
Softening the waves.
And then feeling this presence next to you,
This woman,
Feel as if she knows everything about you.
You could tell her anything and she understands.
And then she whispers something in your ear and you both smile.
Your thoughts and emotions become fewer,
More loving,
More graceful.
And the sea becomes still and describe to yourself,
Not through your thinking mind,
But through feeling how it is you feel sitting here with this goddess who knows you.
And you feel utterly at peace.
And with that,
The goddess begins to stand up and starts to walk away.
And as you watch her walk away,
She simply dissolves into space.
She isn't really gone because she's a part of you.
She is you.
And then you look back at the sea,
Recalling the words that she whispered to you.
A smile comes into your lips,
Confident and ready.
And then place your hands over your heart.
Bow your head slightly,
Bowing to her,
Bowing to your truth and the goddess within.
