Welcome to balanced breathing.

We will begin with Nadi Shodhana and Vishnu Mudra.

So we're going to take the right hand,

We're going to fold in the index and the middle finger.

Okay,

So that means we're going to be using the thumb and the ring finger right at the edge of the nostrils.

So let's place the fingers right at the edge of the nostrils but without pressing or using any pressure just yet.

So please just breathe from both nostrils in and out.

And then we're going to use the ring finger to ever so slightly press against the nostril but you're not closing it completely.

And then we're inhaling through the right nostril.

And then we're gently using that thumb to soften the right nostril and we're exhaling through the left.

Inhaling left,

Close off that left nostril slightly,

Exhale right.

Inhale right,

Exhale left.

So we're alternating,

Gently closing each nostril.

I say gently closing,

It's almost more of a partial closure and it's just the pressure against the edge of the nostril or rather where the nostril meets the face.

Exhaling right,

Inhale right.

Exhale left.

Inhale left.

And continue in this pattern.

So we find as we practice this more,

We become more sensitive to prana,

To life force that enters through the breath.

The breath is the vehicle.

And through that sensitivity we can feel it in the fingers resting against the nostrils.

As we inhale through one nostril we can feel,

Perhaps feel a slight vibration against the finger on the opposite nostril.

Let's complete two more full rounds.

So the exhale will be through the right nostril and then we can lower the hands,

Lower the hand and we'll begin with psychic or visual alternate nostril breathing.

So now just sensing the breath riding up the right nostril on inhale and down the left nostril on exhale.

Inhale sensing the breath up the left and down the right.

Inhale breath up the right nostril and down the left.

Inhale up the left nostril.

Exhale down the right nostril.

So now continue with this pattern.

Just seeing or sensing the breath flow,

Alternating each nostril,

Helping to create,

Further create a balanced effect on each side of the nostril but also on each side of the body and the nervous system.

Now listen carefully.

We're going to begin a new pattern.

It's called Pratyeloma or breaking the stream.

So we're going to watch the breath up the right nostril and then watch the breath down both nostrils.

Sensing the breath flow up both nostrils.

Sensing the breath flow out of the left.

In through the left.

Down through both.

Inhale through both.

Inhale down through the right.

Inhale sensing the breath up the right nostril and sensing the breath down both.

Inhale sense the breath up both nostrils.

Exhale sense the breath down the left.

Inhale left.

Exhale down both.

Inhale up both.

Inhale down right.

So you can either continue this pattern or if it feels too confusing,

Continue with the psychic alternate nostril breathing.

A breathing just through one nostril and out the other.

We'll continue this pattern for almost two more minutes.

Notice of which pattern you're using.

Really seeing or sensing the breath riding through the nostril and nostrils.

Breathing four more breaths.

And then making sure to end with the exhale down the right nostril.

From here we will come to watching the breath flow up and down both nostrils.

Along with the mantra of so hum.

So on your inhale watch the breath float up the nostrils silently repeating so.

Exhale repeating hum.

As the breath flows down both nostrils.

Inhale so up both.

Exhale hum down both nostrils.

So hum.

I am that.

Continue with this pattern of the breath moving up and down the nostrils while mentally repeating the mantra.

So on inhale hum on exhale.

One more minute.

Exhale hum down both nostrils.

We will continue our work with so hum mantra.

But we are going to shift our awareness from our nostrils to the base of the spine.

On inhale mentally repeating so.

Awareness is moving from the base of the spine all the way up the spine to the third eye center.

Exhale that awareness is moving all the way from the third eye center down the spine to the base.

While mentally repeating hum.

Inhale so up base of spine to third eye center.

Exhale hum from third eye center down the spine back to its base.

Inhale along the spine to the third eye.

So exhale from third eye down to the base of the spine hum.

Continue with this pattern of so hum with inhale and exhale while moving awareness from the base of the spine up to the third eye and back down.

One more minute here.

Exhale hum down both nostrils.

As you breathe and mentally repeat so hum possibly feeling the vibration of this mantra moving with your breath.

So it's not simply you repeating it.

It's almost occurring on its own.

It rides the breath.

And here these rest awareness at your third eye center.

No longer trying to mentally repeat the mantra so hum.

If you hear it with your breath.

That is wonderful.

But we're not.

We're not attempting to say it to ourselves.

Just allowing the work of this meditation to allow you to simply rest at your third eye center.

The space between your eyebrows.

Feeling balanced from the different layers of meditation.

Feeling calm and even resting in this space between your eyebrows.

One more minute.

Exhale hum down both nostrils.

Begin to deepen your breath.

Bring awareness away from the third eye center back to your breath.

Please take three more.

And then please bring awareness to the palms of your hands and bring them together at your heart center bowing your head slightly.

Bowing to yourself.

Your higher self.

The part of you that knows.

Namaste.

Amazing! I loved it so much. Just what I needed. I will definitely be adding this to my morning routine but will also use this throughout the day to help prevent anxiety from building & or with panic attacks. This is also perfect for focusing, grounding, centring & clearing the mind while accessing one’s higher sense of self. Beautiful❣️Thank you❣️I am most grateful 🙏✨☺️✨🙏

You are an incredibly gifted teacher. You go so much deeper into these practices than most teachers here even if live… your verbal ability to be clear with words and selfless in tone of voice - non intrusive in my energy as I learn and integrate. I’ve NEVER been able to stay with a mantra but the way you described it as it happening on it’s own, almost riding the breath… it happened effortlessly. I have dysautonomia…an autonomic nervous system disorder and really needed this. I can’t wait to try your creativity meditation! Once I became ill, creativity (when I need it most) started to fall away, mostly because of the neurological and physical impairment. Still, I need to find a way that serves me in my body as it is today. I hold tightly onto my intuitive belief that I will heal, I just don’t know how, when, or what that will look like. Until then, I think you are a wonderful guide to help me fill the bucket, experience new growth and continue to cultivate my spirituality UNTIL my body heals… and then I get to mix it up all together and move through life with all the new beauty as one. Thank you for uplifting my spirit today. Keep on keepin’ on. You are doing great work. I am glad you ‘’followed your bliss.’’
