This meditation is on the full moon.
Please bring yourself into a comfortable seated position,
Spine is tall,
Hips are comfortable.
And let's please rest with our palms face up on our thighs.
If you'd like the thumb and the index finger can touch or they can remain open.
And please begin to bring awareness to your nostrils into the breath that moves from the nostrils up to the space between your eyebrows.
And then watch that breath move from the space between your eyebrows back down to the tip of your nostrils.
So this movement is with the breath.
On the inhale,
We follow the breath up to that space between the eyebrows.
And on the exhale,
We watch that breath flow back down to the tip of the nostril.
So just follow this flow for another minute.
Three more breath cycles following the breath on inhale up the nostrils to that space between your eyebrows and back down on exhale.
And then please rest your awareness on that space between your eyebrows and then on the inside of the forehead at that place.
So awareness is on the inside of the forehead,
But in the space between the eyebrows.
So resting there,
Feel as if you could draw a line,
If you could watch at the back of the head,
Watching the full moon rise.
The full moon rising in the dark space at the back of the head and now illuminating this entire dark space of the midbrain.
So taking in the light that's filling up the midbrain,
But also the shape of the full moon.
Keep all of that in your awareness.
And then beneath the light,
Beneath the full moon is a lake.
And every thought that comes through,
Comes through as a ripple,
A wave in this still lake.
And then the thought passes,
The lake is still,
Representing your mind at this time.
So now in your awareness,
It's this light,
Brilliance of the full moon,
The shape of the full moon herself,
And this still lake.
With a ripple,
Every time a thought comes through,
Just watch this scene.
Not lingering on any thoughts,
Just watching them become that ripple in the water.
If at any point you lose part of this image,
Come back to the beginning,
Having awareness on the inside of the forehead,
And then watching the full moon rise.
Seeing that light shine reflect on this still lake that represents your mind.
And every thought that comes through is a wave on this water.
Please rest here for another two minutes.
Begin to see that lake fading away.
Focusing only on the light,
Filling up the space of your midbrain.
And then begin to see that light fade as the moon sets.
Awareness back to that space on the inside of your forehead.
Bring awareness back to the movement of the breath in and out of the nostrils,
Or up and down the nostrils to that space between your eyebrows.
And then soften your hands together in a prayer at your heart center.
Bowing to that light of the full moon,
That while sometimes hidden,
Is always there.
Thank you.
Namaste.
