Sober and clean since 10.2.88. This course is very insightful. It gives a very simple view of the process of a#icrion. Thought leads to feelings leads to action leads to release and repeat whether the action is self destructive or not. I use the 12 steps to focus my attention so I recognize self destructive thoughts when they come and do positive habits to release them. Really good course for us all. Thanks.

A calm and soothing journey to understanding the innate ability we each have to overcome the challenges connected with addiction; from the labels that are adopted by self and society to understanding the cycle that leads to addictive behavior. This course is delivered very well and is definitely worth the time to enjoy the “pockets of peace” and invitations to reflect and take small steps of action in the direction of change, for good. Thank you!

Thank you for this course. I’ve just celebrated 11 years of sobriety from alcohol and I stopped nicotine 7 years ago. In the process of moving away from these addictions I found what you so eloquently put together in this class. Feelings are fleeting. I cannot run from them or get relief from doing something. I need to feel them and move through to the other side. My feelings are there to teach me. If I listen to my feelings I know what they’re telling me. Usually what I need to do is slow down and breathe. The information on the amygdala was fabulous. I work in healthcare and I often talk to my patient about the amygdala and how it is just trying to keep us safe. Thank you again for this class. I look forward to listening to the other one you spoke of.

Love the connection to well being Always felt my drinking started out as self soothing and relief. In previous therapy I was just told it was all bad. We are all looking for ways to do our best. Understanding why substance starts innocently , then becomes habit was so enlightening. Thank you!

For the first time I realize my addiction is only a part of my being and doesn’t define me. I use an external action to fix an internal feeling. Doesn’t work. So many good insights in this course.
