So right now,
If it's safe to do so,
Find a comfortable position and really make yourself really comfortable.
Wriggle a little bit,
You know,
Just is there a move your leg or move your arm or move your head to make yourself even more comfortable.
This visualization won't last more than five minutes,
Five minutes ish.
Give yourself the gift of finding this peace.
Allow yourself to feel the furniture against your body that's holding you and feel your clothes against your skin.
If it feels good to do so then close your eyes or lower your gaze and notice your breath.
We talked about how the breath is its own natural clock and as your breathing slows down so does your mind.
If it feels right to you then take some deep breaths right now.
Breathe all the way in,
Feel that life-giving breath going through your body.
And as you breathe out,
Breathe out any tension or distractions.
Acknowledge yourself for giving yourself this gift of time out.
There's nowhere else for you to be right now,
Nothing else for you to do.
You can leave your thinking at the door,
You can pick it back up if you want to at the end.
Allow your mind to be free.
Remember the spark that we talked about inside you and if it feels comfortable to do so you might want to put a hand on your chest,
You might want to put a hand on your tummy.
Just feel your breathing and visualize that spark,
That beautiful blue spark inside of you that is never dimmed.
It can't be harmed,
It can't be broken.
While we're here,
I'll tell you a little story.
In a small coastal village there was a lighthouse that stood tall against the crashing waves.
The lighthouse was quite battered from the years and years from the waves.
Its stones were gnarly but it kept shining its light.
The light that guided the ships safely to shore even during the fiercest storms.
The keeper of the lighthouse had faith in the light that it provided and he trusted that it would always guide those ships safely to shore.
One night a particularly brutal storm happened.
The wind raged,
The sea crashed.
The lighthouse keeper noticed that the light was flickering.
Now he could have panicked,
He could have lost faith in the light,
He could have worried about what would happen if the light went out.
But he had absolute faith,
Absolute trust that he would know what to do.
So instead of panicking,
He calmly adjusted the mechanism.
He knew what to do and he trusted that his actions would restore the light to its steady glow.
His faith wasn't in the absence of storms but in the power of the light to guide safely through them.
So right now,
Remind yourself of your light.
Visualize that spark glowing,
Sometimes really strongly,
Sometimes maybe dimly.
And your light represents hope as faith in yourself rather than a desire for a specific outcome.
Whatever is happening on the outside,
The busy crowds,
The family situations,
The business stuff that has to get done,
Whatever's going on in the storm of the external,
You can always go back to your own light.
As you breathe in,
Notice your breath and see your light growing brighter and more radiant with every breath.
And when you exhale,
Release any attachment you have to specific outcomes or desires.
Imagine the light expanding throughout your whole body,
Feeling every cell with warmth and assurance that everything will work out how it's meant to be.
Even if that doesn't look like how you think it's meant to be.
Allow yourself to rest in this feeling of faith and know that hope is not about controlling external circumstances but about trusting life's natural flow with open arms and an open heart.
In a few moments,
I'll bring you back to the room.
So when you're ready,
Start to stretch a little.
Move your shoulders,
Circle your shoulders round,
Move your head on your neck,
Feel your body.
Wriggle your fingers,
Wriggle your toes.
And when you're ready,
Flicker open your eyes.
And as you bring your awareness back to the room,
Take a deep breath in and feel the light within you still glowing softly.
And breathe out any worry or doubt.
Take with you throughout your day,
This thought of faith being an inside job and that you can trust yourself.
You can trust your intuition and if you get caught in your thinking like we all do,
You can trust that when you go to a quiet space again,
You'll have new thought.
That is always happening to anyone,
In any circumstance,
At any time and you can completely trust it.
