Hunt Your Own Shadow

Hunt Your Own Shadow is a 12-day shadow work course for self-acceptance, integration, and healing. Each day begins with a meditation, followed by a contemplation question designed to take you directly to the parts you’ve blocked, repressed, or disowned, helping you identify and release the limiting beliefs that no longer serve. Inspired by Carl Jung and guided by Zachary Phillips, you’ll explore fear, jealousy, identity, responsibility, labels, control, sacrifice, and the implications of success. This course will help you become whole. To identify the subconscious programming running in the background, and to integrate and accept your totality, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the unknown, so you can make lasting positive change.


Meet your Teacher

Zachary Phillips is a counselor, coach, meditation instructor, author, and poet. He is also a qualified teacher, Reiki master, and is currently studying a Master of Counselling. In these roles he helps people identify and release the limiting beliefs that no longer serve them, guiding them from surviving to passionately thriving using tips, tools, and techniques that enable them to process the past, accept the present, and embrace the future with positivity and purpose.

Lesson 1

The Unspoken

In this session we introduce the course, set our intention and mindset, discuss the concept of shadow work and how to get the most from this course. Fear's Footprint

In this session we begin with breathwork and a discussion around mind-body connection. We end with a contemplation of the question "What are you most afraid of?" Remember to share your thoughts and ask any questions in the classroom.

The Mask We Wear

In this session we begin a deep connection to the body, bringing our awareness into our heart/belly space, breathing and connecting, cleansing, and healing deeply. Lesson 4

The Legacy Of Childhood

In this session we begin an inner healing visualization and connection practice. We end with a contemplation of the question “What if you accepted that it is all on you?” Remember to share your thoughts and ask any questions in the classroom.

The Unknown Within

In this session we begin with a present state awareness mindfulness practice. We end with a contemplation of the question “What is underneath your jealously?” Remember to share your thoughts and ask any questions in the classroom.

Lesson 6

Dreamscape Discovery

In this session we begin with an energetic body scan, focusing on different points and witnessing what arises energetically, spiritually, mentally, and physically. We end with a contemplation of the question “Do you actually want your dream life, and is it actually possible?” Remember to share your thoughts and ask any questions in the classroom.

Lesson 7

The Internal Judge

In this session we begin with the engagement of the parasympathetic nervous system through calming of the body through breathwork (box/square breathing) leading to calm. We end with a contemplation of the sentence “I am”. Remember to share your thoughts and ask any questions in the classroom.

Lesson 8

Relationship Reflections

In this session we begin with the practice of Metta meditation (loving kindness), offering the words “May you be free of ill will, free of suffering, full of loving kindness, may you be happy”. We end with a contemplation of the question “How am I at fault?” Remember to share your thoughts and ask any questions in the classroom.

Lost & Found

In this session we begin with a progressive muscle relaxation meditation (gently tensing and lovingly releasing the muscles in the body) We end with a contemplation of the question “What if you let go of your past?” Remember to share your thoughts and ask any questions in the classroom.

Limiting Labels

In this session we begin with the practice of “inbox zero” the act of simply listening to whatever arises without judgement or filter. We end with a contemplation of the question “Can you let go of your labels?" Remember to share your thoughts and ask any questions in the classroom.

Navigating Uncertainty

In this session we begin with a guided mindfulness practice designed to help focus and calm the mind. We end with a contemplation of the question “What if you stopped trying to control your future?” Remember to share your thoughts and ask any questions in the classroom.

Lesson 12

The Hero's Journey

In this session we begin with simple mindfulness scan of the mental space (thoughts, moods, memories) mindfulness practice, with the breath as an anchor. We end with a contemplation of the question “What do you need to sacrifice to get what you truly want?” Remember to share your thoughts and ask any questions in the classroom.
