Welcome to this guided meditation to help you connect with spirit.
If you work with people's bodies,
Minds,
Hearts,
Or energies in any way,
This is a practice that can help ground you,
Set clear intentions,
Release anything that you're holding on to,
And generally get some support from spirit so that you don't have to do this all alone.
If you haven't already,
Take a moment to get settled in your seat or however your body may be oriented.
Notice if you need to fidget,
Adjust,
Maybe you need a sip of water.
Maybe you like to light a candle.
You could even fully stretch.
Allow stillness to come and meet you when it's ready.
Check in with your breath and see if there is anything on the surface that it needs.
Maybe a sigh or a yawn.
Maybe your breath simply wants to be noticed.
Now drop your awareness down into the earth below you,
The land that you're on right now.
Name this land as you know it,
And feel free to include any indigenous names that might apply.
Consider your relationship to this land.
Think about how you got here,
If your ancestors are from this land or if they arrived here from somewhere else.
Also consider your intimate relationship with this land,
The season,
The time of day,
The weather lately and how that feels.
Allow your body to be located here and now.
And now move your awareness through your body,
Taking some time to notice how you feel today.
What is your mood,
Your energy?
Are there some emotions that are present on the surface or maybe deeper?
Are there areas of tension or postural shapes that you notice you're holding?
You may want to do a scan from the top of your head down to your toes and simply notice.
Or if you have another way you like to feel in and listen to your body,
That's perfect.
We'll just take a little bit of time with it here.
Now let's imagine a circle of protection around yourself.
You could imagine chalk or salt or stones,
Maybe a bright light and a color that resonates for you today.
Clarify that only energies that are in alignment with the highest good of all may enter this circle.
Anything that is not that must stay outside of the circle.
For some of us,
It's helpful to imagine this as a physical space.
Are you in a clearing in the forest,
A stretch of beach,
Soft sand between your toes,
The kitchen table of your grandmother,
Maybe a vast blank nothing of white or black.
There's no right or wrong here.
Simply imagine your space the way you like it,
The way it feels most safe and right for you to do your healing work today.
When you're ready,
We will begin to call in spirit.
Spirit could mean your guides,
Your ancestors,
Maybe God or goddess,
The universe,
Maybe your own intuition or high self,
Whatever name you use is perfect.
Request that these energies,
Whatever they are,
Assist you in your practice today.
Add anything else that you might particularly need in terms of your work and the intentions that you're setting for today.
And now that we've done that,
Let's spend a little bit of time here in this container that we've created.
You may like to simply rest here,
Held by the support of spirit.
You might also have brought a question,
A conundrum,
A difficult colleague,
Or maybe there's a client you're working with that you want a little bit of extra help with.
Maybe you had a trigger come up,
A story that's sticking with you from your work,
Anything else you'd like support with.
Offer whatever that is to your guides and pay attention.
They may have some communication with you about it,
Or they may help you hold whatever feels heavy today.
You don't have to do this alone.
And whenever this feels complete,
Allow yourself to be bathed in the beautiful light of this healing space.
Feel that spirit is cleansing and clearing anything that does not belong with you,
Any energies that are sticking with you,
Any mood or worry or stress,
Anything that's not in alignment with the highest good.
Allow these excess energies to release back to source,
Where they will be recycled into something else.
If it helps,
You may like to affirm out loud or in your own mind,
I release back to source any energies that are not mine to hold.
Stay here as long as you'd like to.
When this feels complete,
Deeply thank spirit,
Your guides,
The land,
All the energies that support you,
Whether you're aware of it or not,
In doing your best work.
Then allow yourself to return to your physical space,
The quality of the light in the room,
The feel of the air.
Your circle is closed,
But never broken.
