Welcome to today's meditation.
Today's practice is the first in a seven part series dealing with the theme of the seven chakras.
Today we will deal specifically with the root chakra and to prepare for this meditation,
Sit or lie down in a comfortable position,
Take a few cleansing breaths and draw your awareness inward,
Focusing your attention and directing your energy down to your root chakra.
In the background you will be hearing some beautiful Tibetan singing bowls.
They vibrate and sing at a very low rhythm.
This helps you connect with your root chakra as it vibrates at the lowest rate.
Your root is found in the perineum.
It's the very root and base of our being and it's associated with survival and individuality.
If you are meditating with any stones or crystals or if you want to incorporate that into your practice,
The root chakra is associated with red stones.
So things like rubies,
Garnets,
Red jasper.
It's also associated with smoky quartz and obsidian.
These dark stones have incredible healing properties and they may heighten your meditative experience today and as you move through your practice in the coming weeks.
As you draw your awareness down to your root you may feel a tingling sensation.
You may feel warmth.
You may feel some static energy.
You may also feel nothing at all.
Both are completely okay and the experience will vary from individual to individual.
Along with guidance today we'll be using visualization,
Breath awareness,
Deliberate attention and deliberate pause.
While we are all the same we are all different.
At the very base of your being,
Who are you?
What makes you different?
What makes you unique?
In what ways do you see yourself as a powerful,
Strong,
Capable individual?
At this time I invite you to bring your hands to rest on your hip bones,
Letting them soften,
Holding no tension in your fingers and keeping your awareness always on your root chakra.
Visualize a warm,
Glowing red light coming from your palms and meeting in the middle of your pelvis then traveling down to your root chakra.
This light is warm,
It's inviting and beautiful.
Let it linger here,
The color red growing in intensity.
It may have started off as a pale flicker of blush pink or light rosy red but it grows in intensity into a dark maroon or a dark burgundy.
When you consider where you are in this moment of time,
Think of ways that you are a survivor.
How have you survived?
What has driven you to this point in time,
This moment where you find yourself here today?
What makes you strong and confident?
How do you exhibit passion?
Your root chakra is also the place where anger and pain are held.
They're held tightly and with tension.
Now is the time to release those emotions,
Knowing that they serve you in no positive way,
Knowing that they don't contribute to your life.
Taking room for passion,
Love and peace to grow and flourish,
For the positive to be abundant.
Release all of your energy down to your root chakra,
Feel connected to the earth,
Fully supported,
Pulled to its stability and its strength.
Feeling any anger and pain that you're holding,
Rocking your hips from side to side,
Physically letting it go from your body and acknowledging that it serves you in no positive way.
Another affirmation for the root chakra is I have an abundance of strength.
My energy is passionate and I am deeply connected to my individuality.
You have an abundance of strength.
You are stronger and wiser than you will ever know.
Your energy is passionate.
You live with love in your heart and you lead with conviction and purpose.
You are deeply connected to your individuality.
As you hold your awareness here at your roots,
Be grateful for this moment in time,
Grateful for your practice today.
In these final moments of meditation,
Let go of fear and pain,
Breathe in peace and love and passion.
Be fully connected to your uniqueness and your individuality.
You are all and all is you.
Stay in these moments of connectedness for as long as you would like today,
Breathing in your passion,
Breathing in your purpose and in your own time,
Only whenever you are ready.
Gently come back from meditation,
Wiggling fingers and toes,
Softening the features of your face and opening your eyes.
