Welcome to today's meditation.
In the past we have dealt with emotional themes such as anger,
Self-love,
And abundant happiness.
Today's meditation tackles the theme of disappointment.
Take a moment to get comfortable as we deal with the theme of disappointment.
You may feel a sense of emotional agitation.
It may be helpful to wrap yourself in a warm blanket,
Hold a healing gemstone such as jade or agate,
Or rest your hands at heart center.
Before we begin,
Turn your awareness to your breath and let it be your constant throughout the meditation.
Let it bring you healing and comfort,
Strength and stability.
Feel the rise of your belly as you inhale,
Gently and slowly.
Feel it fill your being with life,
Rejuvenating your body,
Mind,
And soul.
Let your breath exhale slowly,
Gently through your mouth.
You don't need to force it,
Just let it go as it pleases.
With it release tension and fear.
Give space for healing.
You can return your awareness to your breath at any time during the meditation.
If you're feeling agitated or stressed,
Focus on your breath and allow it to quiet and calm you.
Disappointment is a feeling dreaded by most.
The knowledge that you have let someone down or have been prevented from doing something that you were so looking forward to.
There are so many emotional layers to disappointment,
Each with their own intricacies.
Disappointment leads to feelings of sadness,
Despair,
Loss,
Grief,
Confusion.
Often it's difficult to wrap your head around why these things happen that leads you to feel disappointed.
Why is it you that has to shoulder this burden?
On the other side of disappointment,
The side that is often forgotten about when we get lost in these moments of sadness and despair,
Is opportunity.
There is growth,
A moment of learning.
How we choose to look at our disappointment is key.
We can choose to get lost in the sadness,
Loss,
Grieving the opportunity that should have been ours.
Or we can choose to rise above the disappointment and acknowledge the moment as a time for learning.
When we choose to actively look at a situation differently from a positive mind,
We are able to process emotions such as disappointment and anger in a more rational way.
So what does it mean to have a positive mind?
How do we create that space within our being?
A positive mind is an active choice to look at things in a non-threatening,
Impartial way.
Instead of feeling jaded by your disappointment,
Actively choose to feel impartial.
Acknowledge your sense of disappointment and then acknowledge that there is perhaps a lesson to be learned from the experience.
Choose to see the door that closes as perhaps not the right opportunity for you.
Turn around to see the window or find the key to open the door on your own terms.
A positive mind creates a positive day.
A positive day creates a positive week.
A positive week turns into a positive month and a positive month paves the way for a year of abundant positivity.
Return your awareness to your breath.
Does it feel different now that you have let go of disappointment and opened your mind to positivity and opportunity?
Take a deep,
Slow,
Cleansing breath in.
Fill your body with this rejuvenating and clear breath.
Know that your disappointment is temporary and you have the opportunity to choose how you deal with it.
You have the choice whether it manifests itself as an opportunity for change or whether it manifests itself as sadness and pain.
Let your breath exhale slowly,
Gently releasing it from your body,
Letting your belly go soft.
Choose happy.
Choose positivity.
Choose to have a clear mind and to see your disappointment as an opportunity.
You can stay in this moment of clarity and positivity for as long as you would like.
When you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the present.
Acknowledge the sounds around you.
Give your fingers and toes a gentle wiggle and open your eyes.
