Self Acceptance
Accepting who you are, perfectly made in this world. Within a culture that prides itself on drawing comparisons between human beings, self acceptance is the key to happiness and self love. This meditation was recorded live in our group practice in London, Ontario.
Transcript
Breathing deeply as you begin your practice tonight.
Feeling your heart rate slow down.
Settling your body down from whatever it is you were doing before.
Allowing your mind to become clear.
And breathing with full intention into a practice of self acceptance.
We often have a very difficult time accepting who we are.
The energy that we bring into this world.
We judge ourselves by meeting others expectations of us.
And we often fail to realize that the only expectation that matters is our own.
Breathe deeply and easily.
Feeling loving kindness and compassion through your body.
Your relationship with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship that you have.
Treat yourself with love and respect.
Demand that same respect,
That same passionate love from others around you.
Every inch of who you are is worthy of that respect and of that love.
Before you can open yourself up to that,
You have to learn to accept and love yourself.
Every inch,
Inside and out.
You were perfectly made.
Every piece of you is unique.
There is a magic,
A power and a life that lives inside of you that no one else will ever be able to duplicate.
Start first by loving and accepting who you are.
Forgive yourself,
Not just once,
But again and again and again.
As many times as it takes to find peace.
It no longer matters what happened before.
All that matters is you here in this space,
Right now in this piece of time.
Who you are in the very core of your being.
Love and accept who you are.
Breathe deeply here.
Releasing any feelings of self hate.
Accepting mistakes that have been made along the way.
No longer feeling the need to criticize yourself.
Being patient and being kind.
Being gentle with your own heart today.
Recognizing that you are strong and you are empowered.
You have a beautiful strength coursing through your body and you are braver than you know.
You have a burning source of energy inside of you and you are worthy of all things wonderful.
Today as you sink into your practice,
Vow to no longer judge yourself.
Vow to love and accept who you are.
The person that you are becoming is stronger than yesterday.
Braver than you ever thought possible.
You hold all of that infinite wisdom inside of yourself.
No one needs to tell you to unleash it.
Trust in it.
It's there whenever you need it.
Breathe into its power.
Sink into its strength.
As you accept your faults,
Your worries,
Bad decisions and insecurities.
Be unapologetically proud of your accomplishments.
The fierceness in your heart.
Your will and your determination.
Those are things to be proud of.
To show to the world you are unafraid of being who you are.
When we accept who we are,
We are free.
The burden of expectation from everyone else is gone.
You can simply just be.
Be who you are.
Who you were always meant to be.
Incredible,
Wonderful,
Brilliant and beautiful.
These are the things that are destined for you.
As you sink deeper into your practice.
Etching onto your heart,
Every curve of your body,
Every inch of who you are,
Body,
Mind and soul.
Drawing that road map and accepting each piece just as they were made.
Realize.
Peeling back the layers.
Recognizing any areas in life and in love where you're performing to meet someone else's expectations.
Where you aren't putting yourself first.
You aren't being true to who you are.
Vowing to yourself today to put yourself first.
To recognize the value and the importance of everything that you are.
Rising only to meet your standards and your expectations of yourself.
We can't please everyone all of the time.
The only person that we need to please is ourself.
The journey that you are on is not about becoming anything.
Perhaps it's about unbecoming everything that isn't really you.
So you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.
Forgiving yourself for mistakes made.
Realizing how strong,
How incredible you truly are.
You're standing on the start of something new.
Trust in the magic of this beginning.
Self acceptance gives you the permission to practice kindness with the person you've historically been the least kind to.
Yourself.
You are a perfectly valuable,
Creative,
Worthwhile person simply because you exist.
And no amount of triumph or tribulations can ever change that.
Don't let anyone else's expectations of you cloud who you are.
Accept yourself and be free.
Release the burden of everyone else's expectations.
Rise to meet your own.
Find in yourself that you no longer need approval or permission from anyone but yourself.
Value yourself enough to slow down and intentionally accept who you are.
The energy that you bring into this space and into this moment is incredible.
See the beauty in who you are.
Embrace the magic that courses through you.
Everything changes when you start to emit your own frequency rather than absorbing the frequencies around you.
Imprint your intent,
Your expectation on the universe rather than living to serve someone else's standard of you.
You are worthy of respect.
You are worthy of love.
You are worthy of healing and you are worthy of peace.
Hold value in that,
In your worthiness in this world.
Pinch those intentions on your hearts,
Letting them grow and become stronger with every breath that you take.
You have a kind heart,
A gentle spirit,
And a brave soul.
The world holds so much possibility for you.
Become an example to those around you of unconditional love,
Of acceptance and peace.
Growing more compassionate in your own journey every day.
Taking time to be proud,
To recognize how far you've come in this life.
Letting go of regrets and disappointments and being proud of the person you've become.
You are a beautiful human being,
Worthy of happiness and love.
Sink into these moments of stillness.
Breathing deeply and letting those intentions of self-acceptance flow freely through your body.
Releasing the burden of expectation.
Unconditional love and acceptance.
Find them in your hearts,
In the core of your being.
In the final moments of your practice,
Bringing your attention back to your breath.
Feeling the coolness of the air each time you inhale.
Feeling the warmth as you exhale.
Letting your body sink into the ground beneath you.
Feeling your muscles melt away.
May your heart be filled with love.
May your heart be brave.
May your mind be fierce.
May your spirit be free.

Her voice was so soft and gentle, she spoke at a good pace! Thank you so much. Her words were on point and she also had spacing between words to let you allow all the words to sink in and let you contemplate how you can relate it to your life!
