Welcome to this morning meditation for empaths.
I'm Sara Zanacroce,
A fellow empath coming to you from my home office in Switzerland and I'll be your guide today.
If you're feeling overwhelmed by the emotions of others,
This meditation is here to help you create a gentle boundary while staying true to your empathic,
Compassionate nature.
So go ahead and find a comfortable position,
Whether that's seated or lying down,
And then gently close your eyes if that feels safe.
Take a deep breath in,
Breathe in a sense of protection and self-love.
And as you exhale,
Release any heaviness,
Tension or emotions that may not be yours.
And now just let your breath find its own gentle rhythm,
Allowing each inhale to fill you with a sense of lightness and clarity,
And each exhale to clear away anything that isn't serving you.
Now bring your awareness to your body,
Feel the support beneath you,
The surface holding you,
Like a trusted friend grounding you in your own energy.
Notice any sensations in your body,
Especially any areas that feel tight or burdened.
It's okay to acknowledge the emotions you may be holding,
But it's also okay to release those that don't belong to you.
Breathe deeply into those areas,
Sending warmth and ease.
And as you exhale,
Imagine any heaviness melting away,
Leaving you feeling lighter and more at peace.
As you keep breathing,
Visualize a soft,
Protective light surrounding your body.
This light is your own energy,
Gentle yet strong,
Creating a boundary that keeps your space clear and your heart open.
Imagine it as a warm,
Comforting presence that lets in only what serves you and gently keeps out what doesn't.
Inhale deeply,
Embracing the power of this protective boundary,
And exhale,
Allowing anything that isn't yours to float away like a cloud in the sky.
It's okay to hold space for others without carrying their burdens.
You are such a compassionate and kind soul,
And your sensitivity is your gift,
But it's also important to fill your own cup first,
To nurture your own energy so you can show up for others from a place of peace and fullness.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling yourself with warmth,
Strength and self-love,
And as you exhale,
Feel yourself releasing any emotions,
Worries or thoughts that don't belong to you.
Now picture your heart as a beautiful,
Glowing well,
Full of kindness,
Empathy and compassion.
As you breathe,
Imagine this well being filled with light,
Warmth and love just for you.
Remind yourself that it's okay to set boundaries,
That you can be there for others while staying grounded in your own energy,
By your own well.
With each inhale,
Feel a sense of renewal,
And with each exhale,
Release anything that may drain you.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine your well of energy expanding now,
Filling every part of your being with a sense of wholeness and calm,
A seed as well as a source you can always return to,
A place at the center of your heart of peace where you can recharge and restore your energy.
With each breath,
Feel this light growing brighter,
Creating a gentle yet powerful boundary around you.
This boundary is flexible,
It allows you to stay open and connected,
But it also protects your energy,
Keeping you rooted in your own truth.
Trust that it's safe to replenish yourself first,
So you can bring your best self to the world.
Now,
Before we bring this practice to a close,
Take a moment to express gratitude for the gift of your empathy and for the space you've created today to nurture and protect your energy.
And then,
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes and return to the present moment and the space around you.
And just carry this sense of balance and protection with you today,
Knowing that you have the power to be your authentic,
Empathic self while honoring your own energy.
