Welcome to this evening meditation about being grateful for the small things.
I'm Sarasinna Croce and I'll be your guide tonight.
In this meditation,
We'll take a moment to celebrate the small things in life,
Connecting with gratitude and discovering joy in the beauty of everyday moments as you prepare for rest.
Go ahead and find a comfortable position,
Whether that's seated or lying down,
And then gently close your eyes if that feels safe.
And take a deep breath in,
Breathe in a sense of wonder for the simple,
Beautiful things that surrounded you today.
And as you exhale,
Let go of any lingering stress or tension from your day and instead make space for gratitude to fill your heart.
And now just let your breath settle into its natural rhythm,
As if each inhale was a gentle reminder of the abundance you've experienced today,
And if each exhale was an expression of thanks,
Preparing you for rest.
Just take a few breaths on your own,
Breathing in abundance and breathing out thanks.
Now bring your awareness to your body,
Feel the support beneath you,
Maybe the solid earth,
The chair or the bed,
Holding you gently,
Reminding you that you are cared for,
And then notice the sensation of the air on your skin,
The soft fabric of your clothes,
And the steady rise and fall of your breath.
These small things have been here for you all day,
Supporting you quietly.
Take a moment to appreciate these gifts,
Knowing they are always present.
As you keep breathing,
Bring your attention now to your heart.
Gratitude can be found in the smallest of places and moments,
A warm sip of tea,
The sound of the evening breeze,
Or the gentle glow of the moon.
Inhale deeply,
Feeling your heart expand as you think of one small thing you are grateful for tonight.
Exhale,
And let that feeling of appreciation spread through your entire body.
Sometimes we get caught up chasing big moments,
Thinking that happiness lies somewhere out of reach,
But the truth is,
Joy often hides in the little things,
Like the laughter you share today,
The softness of your pillow,
Or the stillness of the night.
Take a deep breath in,
And as you do,
Fill yourself with a sense of awe for these small magical moments.
And exhale,
And let yourself be present,
Knowing that right here,
Right now,
You have everything you need.
Now imagine a soft golden light radiating from your heart.
This light represents all the things you are grateful for,
Big and small.
With each inhale,
Feel this light grow brighter,
Expanding outwards,
Filling you with warmth.
And with each exhale,
Send this light out into the world,
Sharing your gratitude,
Knowing it creates a ripple of kindness and connection.
Now picture yourself walking through a meadow under the evening sky.
The soft glow of twilight is warming your skin,
And the breeze is carrying the scent of night-blooming flowers.
As you walk,
You notice all the simple beauties around you,
A butterfly resting on a flower,
The rustling of leaves,
And the gentle touch of the cool grass beneath your feet.
Each of these moments is an opportunity to connect with gratitude.
Breathe in deeply,
And let yourself be filled with the beauty of this world,
Appreciating the little gifts that make life so special.
And now,
As we gently come to close this meditation,
Just let the feeling of gratitude settle deeply within you.
Trust that these small,
Everyday moments you've cherished tonight are always there,
Quietly bringing joy and ease into your life.
Carry this gratitude with you as you prepare for a restful night,
Knowing that you are safe,
Supported,
And connected to the beauty of life's simplicity.
And when you're ready,
Slowly bring your awareness back to the room,
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
And softly open your eyes.
