A lack of experience of safety highly relates to states of trauma, high anxiety, overwhelm and addiction. While physical safety is important for us, it is only one dimension of our perceived state of safety. This 2-Day Course taps into the experience of our neurological sense of safety - an embodied sense of connection with our physical and emotional needs. It explains the neurological background of how our bodies are wired for safety, the polyvagal theory and together we will explore your own experience of the felt sense in order to restore safety in your life.


Meet your Teacher

Hannah is a neuroscientist (BSc. Neuroscience, Aston University, UK) and a neuro-affective somatic healing specialist for trauma and addiction. She loves to educate individuals about the intrinsic mechanisms of their nervous system and empower them with helpful guidance and tools for their healing journey. She has worked in various international rehabs and has led recovery programs herself.

Lesson 1

Unraveling The Neuronal Story Of Safety

Whether you have connected your anxiety or other states to your not feeling safe or not, this one is going to be good! On day 1, you will learn about the neurological backgrounds of your perceived sense of safety. We are diving into the Polyvagal Theory, how and why your vagus nerve regulates your safety, and why returning to feeling safe is necessary for our whole nervous system and our social life to function properly in the community.

Lesson 2

Shifting To Safety: Identifying Hidden Cues Of Threat

Introducing a special type of neuroscience-based exercise, Hannah will guide you to get in touch with your felt sense of safety, allowing your nervous system to identify hidden cues of perceived threat and shift back to safety.

I was surprised by how unsafe I felt. I went back to my crib and sensed my father holding a pillow 3 “ from my face. I was holding my breath and my whole body was clenched.
