Hey there!

If you're struggling right now with feeling safe in your body and things just feel a little bit off,

Then this is a practice for you.

Just take a little bit of time to look around you in the space that you're in,

Just right now.

Whether that's inside or outside,

Just notice where you are.

Let your eyes wander without forcing.

They don't have to stop at a certain point.

You can put your attention on something specific but you don't have to.

Just notice the colors,

The shapes,

The light.

List them in your head as if you would tell them to me or to a friend,

As if you would just explain to someone who doesn't see what you are seeing,

Where you are and what's happening and what you're seeing.

Find one thing that feels safe or pleasant to look at.

Just stay with it for a few breaths.

Let yourself soak in that sense of familiarity after some time.

As you look at that one thing and you understand,

It starts to look familiar.

Maybe familiarity feels a little bit safe.

Even if it's a tiny tiny bit,

If it's something you know,

Just focus on the tiny piece of knowing.

It's just a gentle reminder for your nervous system that there's safety here too,

Here and right now.

Take a deep breath to finish this practice and you can always always come back to this and re-listen to this.

When you just feel things are just a little bit off and you need a little bit of coming back.

If you enjoyed this,

There's also a course that can teach you how to restore a feeling of safety in my profile and other really helpful practices.

I'm excited to see you again.

Been feeling super stressed on work deadline and nothing on my computer seems to work and everybody from everywhere keeps emailing me. Feeling so overwhelmed i turned to this to take a calming break. I feel a bit better.

I've done countless meditations in times when I'm feeling anxious and struggling to feel something other than the anxiety storm in my body, and most meditations I simply can't break through that barrier. This one, on the other hand, I absolutely loved because of that simple yet powerful technique you introduced of imagining describing to you or a friend things I'm seeing in my space at the moment. That was surprisingly helpful in allowing me a tiny bit of space in getting out of myself. I'll certainly be revisiting this meditation many times over. Thanks!

Thank you for this nugget of gold. What a difference it made to focus on one item. It was as if I took refuge with my eyes carrying the image to my mind and body. I send you gratitude and peace.
