Meet your Teacher

Laura found yoga in 2014. She originally started practicing yoga to lose her baby weight, become healthier and learn to be still in the busyness of being a new mom. The more she practiced, the more she felt this incredible, unexpected shift. Her body changed, but there was a greater transformation that occurred within. She felt more grounded, more resilient, more open to life, and more confident in who She was becoming. Laura is a graduate of the 200 hour Ashaya Yoga Training that she took in Collingwood and began teaching in 2016. She has also obtained her Certifications in Life Coaching, Life Purpose Coaching and reiki. She is currently working towards her 300 hour Yoga Training. Laura is so grateful to share her experiences with those who come to practice and blessed to learn something from each new person she encounters. She brings the perfect mix of breathing and movement to each and every practice. Her belief is that we can all live a little healthier, breathe a little easier, and be a little happier on this beautiful journey we call life.

Lesson 1

Body Awareness

During this session we will explore body awareness with using a little exploration of our breath! We will notice where the breath tends to move throughout the body, where it likes to avoid and then we will practice a Viloma breathing exercise (extended exhalations). We will inhale for a count of 4 and exhale for a count of 6! You will be guided the entire time! Our breathing exercise will prepare our body, mind and soul for a guided meditation on body awareness; noting how our body is feeling physically, emotionally and spiritually. Following our meditation I will leave you with a few reflective journal prompts! This session will help us cultivate self-awareness, aid with anxiety and leave you feeling overall content and peaceful!

Lesson 2

Connection To Self

It is so easy for us to get disconnected to ourselves so this sessions focus is getting us back into our body and out of the thinking mind! We will begin our practice with a guided breathing technique called interrupted exhalations. We will practice 3 rounds of moving through all three breath chambers within our body; abdominal, thoracic and clavicular! This will help us breathe deeply into our bodies allowing us to let go of any disconnections we may feel within ourselves preparing us for a guided meditation on self-love. We will end our time together with reflective journal prompts leaving us feeling more connected to ourselves, helping us be more connected in our relationships and giving ourselves love and kindness!

Lesson 3

Mindfulness

Learning to be mindful in our every day living can be tricky! During this session we will practice a breathing technique that allows us to become more present, let go of stress and help us to live in a more mindful way! We will practice an alternate nostril breath where I will guide you through the entire exercise! Following our alternate nostril breathing we will move into our guided meditation on being here in the now. We will end our time together with reflective journal prompts on how we can live a more connected life and be more mindful in our every day living! You will leave feeling inspired to practice more mindfulness, cultivate a sense of presence and let go of any anxiety!

Lesson 4

Intention Seeking

Imagine living a more intentional life every single day? During this session we will learn how we can put more intention into our day to day living. We will begin with a breathing exercise where we inhale for a breath count of four, retain our breath for a count of five and exhale for a count of six. This breathing technique is a simple yet effective tool you can learn to bring with you every single day! Following our breathing exercise we will move through a guided meditation on your power within! This guided meditation will remind you that when we live intentionally and focus on our own light we can nurture ourselves in a more loving, kind and compassionate way! We will end our time together with a reflective journal prompt and encouragement to show up every single day for YOU! I hope this last session will leave you feeling inspired, powerful, intentional and motivated!
