Meet your Teacher

Amy Gallo is a workplace expert on conflict, communication, and feedback. A contributing editor at Harvard Business Review, she co-hosts the Women at Work podcast and is the author of The HBR Guide to Dealing with Conflict and Getting Along: How to Work with Anyone (Even Difficult People). She teaches in the Emotional Intelligence Coaching Certificate Program and speaks internationally on building healthier, more productive work relationships. Roshi Joan Halifax is a Buddhist teacher, medical anthropologist, and founder of the Upaya Zen Center. She is a leading voice in the field of compassionate leadership and conflict transformation, drawing on decades of work with caregivers, activists, and professionals. Known for her integration of mindfulness and social action, Roshi Joan helps people navigate challenge with clarity, presence, and empathy, whether in the workplace, healthcare, or community settings.

This is helpful. Although, attuning to another, in the workplace, who I don’t know well, I can’t honestly know how they feel or what they are going through. I only know that they’re highly challenging. Too make an assumption on their truth is not what I believe is mine to do.
