Conscious Goal Setting

With Andrea Belzer

Instead of jumping right into picking out goals for the year, we slow down and first ensure we are setting the goals we want. How? By first understanding what is going to stop us from reaching our goal? And then use meditation and journaling to understand what has stopped us in the past. And what we want for our future. Not what others might want for us, but taking the time to explore what would make us happy. Once we understand what we desire. Then we get to the details! We set out specific steps with a timeline that will get us to our goal. Most importantly after setting goals, you are not on your own afterward. There is monthly and quarterly check in's to make sure you are on track. Allowing you to come back each month to the course and see where you need to make adjustments. Find your off track? You can quickly refocus on what you can do to fix it, then keep going after your goal. Finding this mid-year? No problem, it is designed to be done at any time that you need to refresh your goals.

This short course was very helpful to me in setting up goals for my year, and then giving me prompts to review progress on a monthly and quarterly basis, so I can make goal adjustments as needed. I particularly liked the idea of reviewing goals from a ‘what might I adjust or change’ mindset, and re-examining if it is still a goal I want, rather than feeling like I have failed.
