Welcome to your yoga nidra practice.
To begin with,
Make sure that you're comfortable.
You can do this practice in Shavasana lying on your back.
With your legs open a little bit wider than hip distance apart with your feet relaxing out to the sides and with your arms at the sides of your body.
The palms of the hands facing upwards.
Or if lying on your back isn't a comfortable position for you to rest in.
Then make your way into another position that feels better for you.
You can bring your feet together and open your knees out to the sides or you can bring your feet to hip distance apart and drop the knees together.
Perhaps it might feel more comfortable to lie on your side or you can even do this practice sitting if that's what feels best for you.
So just give yourself a moment now to find a comfortable position that your body wants to rest in.
And make use of any props,
Any pillows,
Cushions,
Blankets so that you can feel completely comfortable as you rest.
You won't be distracted by any physical discomfort.
As you enter into your meditation.
As your body begins to settle just feel into that feeling of your body resting into the surface beneath you.
Notice all of the meeting points between your body and that service.
Become aware of how safely held you are by that surface beneath you.
And know that it's safe for your body to let go of any tension.
It's safe for your body to completely relax here.
Because the surface beneath you,
The earth beneath you,
Is holding you.
And will continue to hold you throughout the whole of the practice.
Just send your awareness through your body now.
Notice if there are any areas that are feeling a little tight or uncomfortable.
If you find a tense or uncomfortable area,
Send the breath into that place.
Inhale into the tension or discomfort.
As you exhale allow the exhalation to encourage some of that tension to release.
Repeat this with as many places in your body as you need to.
Taking a breath into any tension or discomfort.
Allowing the exhalation to carry some of that discomfort away.
So that with every exhalation.
.
.
Your body becomes more settled.
More relaxed.
And now send your awareness outwards to the sounds that you can hear in your environment.
And just let the awareness move between the different sounds.
Without getting too involved in any one particular sound Just acknowledge that there are different signs of death.
And welcome them.
Know that the sounds are not going to disturb you They can only help to enhance your experience as you rest today.
When a pet goes missing,
It's a very worrying,
Very stressful time.
We can feel a lot of anxiety and a sense that we have to be doing something.
Have to be out searching.
Just take a moment to acknowledge yourself.
All of the care that you have put into looking for your pet.
Take a moment to acknowledge that this is your time for your rest.
For your rejuvenation.
For your own self-care.
As you rest here today.
All of your intentions All of your love for your pet.
Still be working.
Still be making that connection with your pet.
That you need and deserve this time to rest.
To just be here.
To let go of some of the stress and tension that comes with that feeling of not knowing.
Now just take a moment to picture your pet safely home with you.
See your pet safe,
Well and happy.
Seeing your pet inside your home,
Doing all of the things that it usually does.
Just hold that vision for a moment.
Your happy,
Healthy,
Safe pet.
Feel the feeling that comes with that vision.
Notice the sensations that arise in your body as you hold that vision of your pet.
Healthy.
Safe.
Time with you.
Feel those feelings inside your body intensifying.
Feel that feeling as vividly as you can.
Feeling of your pet.
Happy?
Healthy.
Say.
Protect it.
The peace.
We're going to take a journey around the body.
Allow the awareness to move to each body part,
Resting for a moment at that place.
We'll begin with the thumb of the right hand.
Bring the awareness to rest at the right hand thumb.
Right index finger.
The right middle finger.
The ring finger.
The little finger.
The palm of the right hand.
The back of the right hand.
The right dress.
The right forearm.
The Right Helper.
The upper arm.
The right shoulder.

Bring me awareness to the whole of the right fit.
The whole of the right leg.
The whole of the right arm.
The whole of the right side of the body.
Moving to the left side bring the awareness to the left hand thumbs.
The left index finger.
The left middle finger.
The left ring finger.
The last two fingers.
The palm of the left hand.
At the back of the hand.
The left wrist.

The whole of the left side of the body.
The whole of the body together.
Awareness on the whole of the body together.
The whole of the body.
Together.
Bring the awareness to the breath.
Watch the breath flowing in,
Flowing out.
Follow the breath as it moves into your lungs and watch the chest expanding.
Follow the breath back out again.
Watch the chest relaxing.
As you watch the breath flowing in and out.
Become aware that your pet is also breathing.
And see your breath synchronising with the breath of your pen.
As you breathe in,
See your pet breathing in.
As you breathe out.
See your pets breathing out.
As you breathe together,
Feel that bond between you and your pet strengthening.
Feel the presence of your pet.
The awareness of your pet becomes stronger,
Clearer.
Until it's as if your pet is right here beside you.
Feel the presence of your pet here with you right now.
As you breathe together.
Connect together.
Take a moment to ask your pet any questions.
Share any communication you wish to share with your pet.
Listening quietly to any answers.
To anything they have to say to you.
To see your pet once again.
Happy?
Healthy.
Say.
Inside your home doing all of the things that it usually does.
Take a moment to remind your pet once again how much you love it.
That you are here.
Ready to welcome it when it's ready to return.
And very slowly begin to turn your awareness back outwards.
Notice the sounds that are present in your environment around you.
Let your awareness move from sound to sound.
Just acknowledging the sounds without getting too involved in what they are or where they're coming from.
Feel into the feeling of your body resting into the surface beneath you.
Feel the feeling of the breath flowing in and out.
Start to make some small movements now to reawaken your body.
Moving your fingers and your toes.
Circling your wrists and your ankles.
Give yourself a stretch in any way that feels comfortable for you.
And when you're ready slowly open your eyes to complete the practice.
Your practice of Yoga Nidra is now complete.
Thank you for joining me today and I hope you will be reunited with your pet very soon.
