This course is for anyone struggling with anxiety, and looking for ways to live a happy, healthy life with fewer feelings of overwhelm and worry. In this course, we will dive deep into our own bodies and nervous systems, and use realistic, helpful, body-based techniques to help cope. This course is different than many others because we will not be using breathwork or seated meditation. Anxiety often makes us restless, finding stillness in times of panic just isn't realistic or possible when we are in the thick of its anxiety and panic. Let's meet where we are at and use somatic practices to help.


Meet your Teacher

Hannah Brown is a yoga teacher and bodyworker based in Toronto, Canada. Hannah has helped countless people with their anxiety through her yoga classes, meditations and live classes on insight timer. Hannah has taken many courses to help her on her journey of living with anxiety, from yoga teacher trainings, to reiki certifications, to trauma informed work. Yoga and movement have helped her tremendously and she feels it's her job to continue to share her knowledge with everyone she can.

Lesson 1

Introduction

In this quick introduction we talk about what anxiety feels like, how it presents for us and we go over well meaning, but not very helpful advice we may receive along the way.

Lesson 2

Compassion

Let's talk about moving anxiety to the back seat of our lives, rather than driving the car. We explore a new way of looking at anxiety, how to deal with it with compassion, and a movement similar to a butterfly hug.

Lesson 3

Reality

In this lesson, we speak about how anxiety can warp our view of reality. We'll go over some journal ideas, and movement practices to bring us back out of our minds and back into our bodies, into the present reality.

Lesson 4

Waves

In this lesson we talk about the waves of anxiety that we learn to surf as we live with and explore our anxiety. We use core strength, mindset shifts, and a few new movement tools to explore ways to ride the waves and let them run their course. Remember, you have survived through 100% of the rough anxiety days, through 100% of the anxiety symptoms. You. Are. Strong.

Lesson 5

Play

In this lesson we talk about play and distraction, how and why they work to deal with and process anxiety. We explore balance, small movements and other ways to bring in play to your life.

Notes

In this final chapter of our course, I'll go over a few extra bits and pieces that are helpful in living with and moving through anxiety. These last few pieces might help you to fill in any blanks with your anxiety experience.

Incredible unbelievable wonderful extraordinary I am sooooo grateful to Hannah Brown. High anxiety has been my “friend” my whole life ever since I was a child. And no surprise here since I was extremely abused by both parents and no one ever knew, neither relatives neighbors teachers. It was a shameful secret. Fuck, I revealed a lot.
