SoHam - A Mantra Meditation
by Laura Moser
One of my favorites. This is a relaxing meditation with a focus on the breath. SoHam translates into "I am that". We are one with the Universe. Soham meditations help improve concentration, clarity of thought to help you gain insight, tapping into your higher self. Music credit : Chris Collins (Infinite Calm)
Transcript
Please join me for a mantra meditation.
So hum.
So hum is a relaxing meditation.
Please find a comfortable seat.
Once you find a comfortable seat,
Begin to focus on the breath.
Feel the rise and the fall of the breath through the entire body while maintaining your focus on the third eye center.
Turning inward,
Maybe closing the eyes and placing one hand on the heart and the other hand on the belly.
Feel the vibration of a smooth sip of breath.
This is the vibration,
The mantra.
So hum.
So hum is a Sanskrit term meaning I am that.
Hear the sound on the inhale.
So the sound of the hum on the exhale.
So hum.
Repeat this phrase.
So hum to yourself.
As you breathe in,
As you breathe out,
Thoughts come and go.
Set them off to the side and refocus to the breath.
So hum.
Gently releasing the mantra with intention.
We'll take one cleansing breath,
Filling the lungs,
Then exhaling,
Bringing our hands to heart center.
Namaste.
