This is a forgiveness meditation aimed primarily at practitioners of Reiki or people who have received Reiki attunements or empowerments. Allowing yourself to forgive can be powerful and transformative. We don't always even acknowledge the need for forgiveness, for example when we feel vulnerable about admitting to how hurt we have been. In this practice you are asked to choose a specific person or incident to forgive. If you have not done something like this already, please start small and work your way up to the big stuff, and allow yourself time to process whatever may arise. This is a newer version with improved audio quality, released November 2018. This meditation is from the album "Reiki Precepts Meditations", available now, and accompanies the book "Living the Reiki Precepts". Music by Chris Collins.

Find a quiet space where you won't be disturbed and set aside a little time for this exercise,

To allow yourself to fully be with it and to release any emotions which you may find arising.

Sometimes we retain old or fresh anger because someone has done something to us,

Or we can be angry at ourselves for something we feel we've done wrong.

The thing we are angry about may be a big thing or a little thing,

And it may not always be easy to consider forgiveness.

By holding on to the anger and not forgiving another person or ourselves,

However,

We're preventing ourselves from healing,

From moving on.

Forgiveness is not about absolving responsibility,

But about releasing ourselves from the shackles of anger which a particular incident might have left us with.

The first thing we need to do in order to forgive is to decide what it is that we need to forgive.

You might already know what it is that needs to be forgiven,

And you may be unsure or think that it is silly.

It's okay.

Even if one part of our brain says that it's silly to need to forgive a certain thing,

There's another part of our brain that needs to anyway,

And it is this part of the brain that we're dealing with today.

So take a moment and decide who you need to forgive,

Whether it is yourself or another person,

And what specifically you are forgiving them for.

Now picture that person doing the thing that needs to be forgiven really clearly.

You may just see them,

Or you may notice sounds,

Smells,

Even feelings.

That's okay.

Take that scene and shrink it down into a little imaginary box in front of you.

Shrink it so much that the box fits into the palm of your hand.

Now put your hands around the little box with the scene in sight.

You will send Reiki to the scene and to the person.

Take a moment to centre yourself and connect to Reiki in whatever way you normally do.

If you know the symbol for distant healing,

You can use this now,

And this technique will also be effective without it.

Send Reiki into the box.

Send it to the incident which you are forgiving,

And to the person whom you are forgiving.

If you wish,

You can affirm aloud to yourself or to the person in the box that you are forgiving them and releasing them.

Tell them that you wish them only here,

And for the highest good of all concerned.

Continue to send the Reiki for as long as you need to.

Transcribed by ESO.

Translated by — You Allow the flow of Reiki to subside.

Release any visualization and sever the connection to that person,

Clapping or rubbing your hands together.

You may want to shake off any excess energy or anything which has emerged for you during this exercise which no longer serves you.

Thank you for sharing this practice with me.

Loved it! I am a reiki healer myself but sometimes we can get so consumed with no distance from our own circumstance. So glad I chanced upon this guided reiki session. Thank you 🙏🏼

Much needed. It wasn’t anger but deep sadness I needed to release at a relationship that isn’t the way I wish it was. Thank you Keziah.

I really enjoyed the Reiki inclusion. This was a powerful meditation for me and I will continue to incoporate more Reiki in my meditation practice...something that hasn't even occurred to me. Namaste.

Thank you so much for offering this powerful practice. I actually felt intense physical sensations in my hands that dissipated through every breath of forgiveness. I am taking your Tarot course right now and feel so grateful for the insight and guidance you are bringing to my life. Blessings. 🙏🏼

I started out try to forgive a person who has lied to me repeatedly for 4 years, but ended up using it to try to forgive myself for being gullible.
