Ian has been passionate about meditation for over 50 years. His journey began with balancing his Osteopathic and Herbal practice in London, while also dedicating time to exploring various forms of meditation. A life-changing decision led Ian and his wife Alicia to embrace meditation more deeply, eventually becoming co-managers of a Vipassana Meditation Centre in the USA, before running their own Centre in New Zealand. Ian's approach as a meditation teacher is shaped by his experiences with different teachers and practices along the way. With over 13 years of teaching experience, he continues to grow and evolve his own practice. Ian draws inspiration from transformative figures such as Babaji, Paramahansa Yogananda, Goenka, Ramana Maharshi, Mooji, Thich Nhat Hanh, Swami Jnaneshvara, Eckhart Tolle, Russell Williams, Dr. Richard Miller, and Tara Brach, all of whom he holds in deep gratitude. Now living in the North of New Zealand, Ian is dedicated to sharing his wisdom with a growing online community, offering support and guidance to others on their own spiritual paths, including a monthly meditation live session here on Insight Timer.
