IN~Nidra Elements & The Sacral Chakra
by Ian Melrose
Connect to your body through the use of elements in this restorative yoga~Nidra. Centred on the Sacral chakra this practice supports you to manifest a determination and heal areas in your physical layer. We rotate through the body using the basic elements, especially water, to connect that body part with the brain. You will be supported to tune into the 'space of consciousness' to sense the body as a vibrational expanse, beyond the mind.

Welcome to Insight Nidra with Ian Melrose.
This meditative practice combines Eastern and Western modalities of Vipassana,
Yoga Nidra,
Chakra work,
Archetypes and Body symptoms.
It is now time to prepare for Insight Nidra.
Please lie down in Shavasana with your feet hip width apart and your arms slightly away from the body,
Palms up.
Make sure you are warm,
Comfortable and relaxed.
It is best if you are in a dark room.
Use an eye mask if needed.
Ian will now begin this guided meditation.
One of the things I've been contemplating on a lot is that,
Lisha and I are doing Yoga Nidra every day and we've found that with that continual practice it's definitely making a difference in our lives.
So it's good to ask why we do these things just yourself.
So working with the sacral chakra.
It's relaxing your muscles.
Letting your breath slow.
Letting the body go deeper into relaxation.
Gradually as you do this you're withdrawing the senses from the external world.
Pratyahara,
Fifth stage of Patanjali's Yoga.
Keep registering any sounds outside or within you.
Just don't let them create any disturbance in your body or mind.
There's a space between any sensory,
Stimuli,
Touch,
Hearing,
So on and your response to it.
You're in the world but you have less engagement with it.
Because we're working with the sacral chakra,
If there's any conditions of the intestines,
Kidney,
Bladder,
Blood,
Lymph or lower back,
You may wish to make a determination that the energy unlocked in the state of the yoga nidra start to be used for those conditions.
Patanjali will visit the determination just at the edge of the yoga nidra state to see if you can make a deeper determination for your direction in life.
Just reflect which sort of determination you'd like to make.
Just say three times in the present tense as if it was already present.
If you wish,
You can visualize putting your hands,
Those of a practitioner or awakened person on any condition that you have for the next few minutes.
God bless!
You you you you and to move into the next phase of relaxation just find any areas of heaviness or likeness the backs of your hands your palms thumbs four fingers middle fingers ring fingers little fingers keeping your attention within the hollow of all the spaces in the body your wrists inside the lower arms heaviness or likeness in the elbows the aches or pains in any of these areas upper arms shoulders heaviness in every single part of the body heaviness and likeness the right chest waist right hip both your thighs inside the knees legs awaken likeness in the feet ankles soles of the feet big toes second toes middle toes fourth toes little toes you're so heavy you're sinking into the ground you you heaviness or likeness the left chest waist left hip heaviness and likeness and shoulder blades buttocks right side of your back left side of the back spinal cord neck the whole of your back sensation of weightlessness in all parts of the body you lightness or heaviness the crown chakra a third eye both your eyeballs temples the whole of the face ears nose lips tongue throat lightness or heaviness the heart chakra solar plexus chakra sacral chakra the whole body the whole body your body feels so light it's floating away from the floor you find in the areas of cold in the body awaken the sensation of heat somewhere in the body awaken the experience of heat and cold the whole body is hot the whole body is hot you feel heat everywhere imagine you're walking on ice your feet are cold you feel cold all over recollect the feeling of humid heat heat all over the body heat all around the body awareness of heat you you you you pain and pleasure pain and pleasure may originate from neurons the same locations in the brain find areas of pleasure the sense of taste any smell you can remember and it sounds externally or within you looking inwards if your eyes are singing backwards deep inside yourself we have receptors for pain but there are no receptors for pleasure so we ask where is the pain but not where is the pleasure are the experience of pain suffering and pleasure part of the continuum feel any pain receptors pressure receptors which may be active now in your skin fascia mucosa organs,

Let's reflect on any of these concepts for a little while.
How do we collect time?
Breathe in slowly.
Fill the forehead area with light.
On exhalation,
Empty.
Breathe out through the sacral chakra.
Breathing in to the forehead area with light.
Breathing out through the lower abdomen.
Just making expiration twice as long as inspiration.
Just keep repeating.
Breathing in through the sacral chakra.

Bringing your attention to the sacrum,
The base of the spine.
Inhaling the sacrum up the spine,
Through the midbrain to the forehead area.
Exhaling from the forehead,
Down the spine,
Back to the sacrum.
Keep inhaling up and down the spine.
Imagining the breath like liquid amber flowing in the stream from top to bottom.
Bottom to top.
Follow the amber breath.
Up and down the hollow spinal cord with awareness for about the next five minutes.
Exhaling from the sacral chakra.
Breathing in through the sacral chakra.

Watch your breath flowing like a tide.
Through this area.
Removing any mental,
Emotional debris.
Like a gentle waterfall.

Bringing the awareness to the forehead area.
To the kasha,
Chit,
Which means consciousness,
The kash,
Which means space.
Just returning to your determination.
Now that you're in a deeper state.
What do you wish for?
Wish to unfold over the next few months.
Let's contemplate this for a couple of minutes.
Let's think about it for a couple of minutes.
Let's think about it for a couple of minutes.
From this space in the middle of the mind.
You're somewhere with your whole body.
You're comfortable.
Your breath is natural.
Your senses are withdrawn.
Keep concentrating into absorption.
Watch the infinite fluidity of non-separateness.
Your body spreading into vibrational expanse.
Radiating outwards.
To the kasha,
The sky of consciousness.
Where all gross and subtle activities take place.
Where everything evaporates.
In the conditioned consciousness called mind.
Along with intellect,
Ego,
Fades.
As the chakra turns the mind inwards.
Keeps the heart wide open.
Merging love and consciousness.
The patterns are released.
They merge as thoughts.
Visions.
Emotional expressions.
Be aware of yourself practicing yoga nidra.
Keep floating this river of awareness.
As you count backwards.
From 21 to zero.
With each bend in the river.
Count back.
Another number.
We'll be here for about 20 minutes.
Thank you.

Just notice each effortless inhalation as it enters the body.
And each exhalation as it exits the body.
Let the body be breathed.
As you inhale,
Subvocalise,
Let.
As you exhale,
Go.
Inhale,
Let.
Exhale,
Go.
Let a watery warmth extend to your fingers.
To your toes.
Inhale and exhale through the soles of your feet.
Imagine the breath entering and exiting through the palms of your hands.
Inhale and exhale through the navel area,
Sacrosaccharine.
If you're going to sit up,
Just roll over onto your right side,
But you're welcome to stay lying down.
You're welcome.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
