In this meditation you will be led into the process of being open to invite in the deep sleep that you body needs and wants. Using the calming and peaceful resonance of Ed's voice and a specific awareness technique your mind will become calm inviting your body's natural ability to bring on sleep and deep profound rest. There is no trying only allowing the body's natural built-in mechanism for rest and restoration.

Hi there.

If you're listening to my voice right now,

It's because you're having trouble falling asleep.

Perhaps you had a busy day.

Perhaps a lot of things happened today that you didn't want to happen.

Or perhaps some wonderful things happened today and you're just so excited that it's hard to find the gentle sleep to surrender to.

Either way,

Don't worry about why you can't sleep.

Instead,

I suggest that you realize that you are the medicine that you need to go to sleep.

You have within you a natural ability to fall asleep,

A natural ability to find rest and relaxation.

And what we're going to do tonight is allow you to open the doors to that natural ability so that it can come in and gently,

Swiftly,

And most certainly allow you to fall into the deepest sleep that you possibly can,

That your body will allow.

It's possible because it's your intrinsic nature.

The body has a natural,

Built into its DNA,

A natural desire to rest and to heal and to recover.

And we're going to turn that facility on.

So if you're ready,

I want you to get into your most comfortable sleeping position.

If you're wearing headphones and just adjust them,

Close your eyes and listen to my voice.

I want you to feel the silence,

The resonance,

The deep restfulness that you sense in my voice,

The peace.

And I want you to say,

Yes,

I feel that,

Yes,

I heal that,

Yes,

I want that.

You see,

The way to sleep is indirect.

It's not a trying or doing.

It's actually you opening up the doors of your perception to allow sleep or allow the sleep mechanism to come in and take over like it normally does every night.

And in order to do that,

In order to facilitate that,

We need to talk to the body,

Not to the mind.

So I'd like you to pretend that there are microphones all over your body,

Very subtle microphones that pick up vibrations,

Sensations,

And I want you to turn them on slowly with me.

I'd like you to imagine that there are microphones all over your head,

The top of your head,

Around your ears,

On the back of your head.

These microphones are vibrating,

And in the vibration is the sound of my voice,

The gentleness,

The softness,

Yes,

The love that's in my voice,

Coming into these microphones and into your head and subtly massaging and vibrating to your unique frequency so that your head reaches a level of deep relaxation,

Deep quietness.

Imagine that there are microphones surrounding your neck and your shoulders.

As these microphones turn on and you feel the vibration of my voice massaging and soothing your neck and your shoulders,

Feel the vibration.

It may be a subtle sensation,

But notice it.

Good.

And notice how the microphones begin to move down your body as the microphones move down your back and your spine and your bottom.

And as they wake up,

They vibrate again,

And you feel a sensation of peace,

Quietness and silence throughout your entire back and moving around to your abdomen.

The microphones wake up and you feel the vibration in your stomach moving up higher to your solar plexus,

Up to your chest and your heart area as it begins to hum with the vibration of peace,

Quietness,

Silence,

Acceptance,

Surrender.

Follow those microphones down back to your stomach and your abdomen,

Your groin area,

Your thighs,

Your quadriceps.

They begin to vibrate.

Your whole body is beginning to vibrate with the harmonics of peace and quiet and silence.

And if the mind wants to come in and talk to you,

Just say,

No,

Thank you.

I'm going to return to these harmonics within my body and just come back to them.

Don't worry about the thought.

Continue the journey down your legs.

Feel the vibration of my voice in your legs,

Behind your knees,

Over your calves and your shins,

Down the instep of your feet,

Spreading out through your toes and around your toes,

Between your toes,

On the bottoms of your feet,

In the arches,

In the heels,

And slowly feel that sensation and vibration come back up the back of your calves,

Up through the back of your knees,

Up through your bottom,

Small of your back,

Through now circling your body as it wraps itself around your body,

Around your stomach,

Around the middle of your back,

Around your solar plexus,

And coming around your shoulder blades,

You feel this humming,

This sensation,

This peace,

This silence,

Which is you,

Which is yours.

It's circling around to your chest,

Above your heart,

To your throat,

The back of your neck.

Your whole body is humming with the sound of my voice,

With the quality of love,

Acceptance,

Surrender,

Peace,

Self-love,

Appreciation,

And it's finally coming around your head,

To your forehead,

To your crown,

And then you'll just allow this vibration to leave through the crown of your body,

As your body begins to be still,

Maybe there's some after vibrations going on.

Feel the deep peace throughout your body,

And know that this is who you are.

Your nature is rest.

Take a deep breath,

And say to yourself,

Rest is my nature,

And feel the sensation of your breath,

Like microphones inside of you,

And feel the air coming in and out of you,

Vibrating with rest,

And energy,

And restoration.

Now,

Say to yourself,

I am peaceful,

As you feel your thoughts begin to subside,

And they go of you,

And calm,

A deep calm floods your mind.

Now,

Say to yourself,

I am space,

I am the space around my body,

My body is light,

And buoyant,

And weightless,

And as you feel this sensation,

You feel your body beginning to let go,

You feel sleep coming,

Approaching,

The deep rest of what sleep means and feels like,

And as you notice a quietness growing inside of you,

Let yourself go,

Let yourself fall,

Release and surrender to the wave of sleepiness that begins to surround you,

Open and accept this wonderful sense of rest,

And letting go,

Now let yourself go,

Just let yourself go,

Just let yourself go,

Now let yourself go,

Just let yourself go,

Now let yourself go,
