Intuition is often treated as a mysterious or magical gift, but through the 3 Principles philosophy we see it is ordinary and always available. In this short talk, you’ll be reminded that intuition is not effortful, not rare, and not outside of you. It is the steady guidance beneath thought, showing you that you are never separate from wisdom.

Here's a few minutes to reconnect with truth from a three-principles perspective.

When I first heard about the idea of intuition or wisdom or inner knowing or guidance,

It seemed to me that it was some magical,

Elusive thing.

And then in order to experience that guidance,

I would have to work really hard at it.

But that's just like all the other self-development things I thought I needed to do in order to feel calm,

In order to manage stress,

In order to not feel anxious.

The truth is that we don't actually need to do anything to connect to what's already inside us.

My favorite,

Favorite quote on this subject is by Jack Pransky,

Who says,

All we are is peace,

Love and wisdom and the ability to create the illusion that we are not.

When our minds are really busy,

It can be really difficult to believe that we have anything called intuition.

Of course,

Because in those moments,

We're believing our thinking and thought makes guidance seem hidden.

My favorite metaphor on this is the noisy brass band.

That can be all you can hear some days.

I know what that can feel like.

I have so much personal experience of that.

Underneath that noisy brass band is a tiny piccolo.

It's a little tiny flute,

By the way,

That's trying to be heard.

It's always there though.

The piccolo player never goes home.

They're very determined.

But when the brass band is being listened to,

And it's really loud,

That guidance can seem really hidden.

We have,

However,

A beautiful compass to help us with this.

And that's our feeling state,

Our emotional state.

What are the sensations like in our body?

So I encourage you here to notice that good feelings always come with helpful guidance.

Intuition.

When you're in a good feeling,

You're not so much caught up in that busy mind,

The brass band,

But you're settled and calm and able to listen to the beautiful music,

The gentle music of the piccolo.

The truth is that intuition really is very ordinary and very much part of your everyday life.

It's always available in small and large amounts.

The thing is to notice that good feeling.

And also to notice when you're not in so much of a good feeling,

When you're caught up in your busy mind.

That's probably not the best time to make big decisions or guide yourself through life.

That's a time to look after yourself.

To take some time,

Perhaps to pause,

Go for a walk,

Sit down with a cup of tea.

To rest and care for yourself.

As your mind settles,

You'll notice that even with the most difficult problems,

Something comes through that's helpful.

I encourage you to experiment with this.

And if you want to explore this topic further,

I do have a course called Everyday Intuition that you can check out.

I hope this has been helpful.

I hope it's helped you to see that intuition really is ordinary and not some elusive thing that you have to work hard to get.

Take care,

Lots of love,

And I hope to see you again soon.
