Feeling At Ease
This is a beautiful meditation, that allows you to come home to what is real, the steady rhythm of your breath, the beating of your heart, the ground below and the sky above. This meditation is deeply grounding and great for reducing the noise in our minds and our lives.
Transcript
A warm welcome to you.
During this meditation we shall come home to what is real.
We shall rest in the steady rhythm of our breath and the beating of our hearts.
We shall come home to the safety and permanence of the ground below and the sky above.
When life is busy and stressful,
When we experience overwhelm,
We can always find refuge here.
We can connect with these elements anywhere,
Anytime we desire comfort,
Security and peace.
So let us begin now by settling into a comfortable position.
This could be seated or lying down,
Whatever feels good for you today.
And just seeing if you could be 10% more comfortable,
Making any little adjustments you need.
And as you close down your eyes,
Just reminding yourself that there is nowhere else you need to be.
That it's okay to take this time for yourself.
That it's okay to come home to what is real.
As your awareness begins to draw inwards,
Gently letting go of any expectations of how this meditation should be or should feel.
And just surrendering into the idea that whatever comes will be just what you need.
Surrendering into this act of meditation,
This act of coming home to what is real.
Drawing your awareness now to your breath.
No need to change or manipulate your breath in any way.
Just beginning to cultivate a sense of curiosity towards your breath as it is in this moment.
Noticing the air as it enters your nose.
Noticing the air as it leaves your mouth.
Noticing the gentle rise and fall of your chest as you breathe.
Noticing the soft expanse of your belly as the air moves in and out.
Noticing how many parts of your body come together in this shared act of breath.
Noticing also how your breath can be both complex and simple at the same time.
Resting here in the gentle ebb and flow of your breath for a moment or two.
Just as the tide washes over the sand,
Your breath washes over you.
Noticing now that your body breathes on its own.
That you are being breathed.
Surrendering into this idea of being breathed.
With each breath we are offered the gift of life.
Resting here in the safety of your breath.
Resting here in a sense of gratitude.
Resting here in this sense of what is real.
And within this sense of safety and comfort.
Allowing yourself to let go of any physical tension or sense of holding on.
Relaxing across your eyes.
Your cheeks.
Your jaw.
Softening across your shoulders.
Your stomach.
Letting your legs relax.
Your arms heavy by your sides.
And within this act of relaxation can you allow the earth to receive your weight.
Feeling safe in this act of the ground supporting you.
Perhaps you can notice the gentle interaction that exists between you and the ground below.
As you relax further the ground receives you even more.
As you surrender into this felt sense of relaxation of letting go.
The ground rises up to meet you.
To hold you.
Resting here once more in this sense of being held.
Resting here in what is real.
Resting here in the safety of the earth below.
And gently drawing your awareness now to your heart.
Perhaps you can feel your heart beating.
Is it faint or strong?
Fast or slow?
Offering your heart a few deep grateful breaths now.
Your heart that loves.
Your heart that forgives.
Your heart that breaks and heals.
Resting here in what is real.
In the safety of your heartbeat.
In the infinite capacity of your heart to feel and enrich your life.
Noticing any sense of warmth,
Of relaxation or openness that may emerge as you connect with your heart in this way.
And now drawing your awareness to the sky above.
To its expansiveness.
To its permanence.
Clouds pass.
Rain falls.
The sun shines.
Moons rise.
Stars twinkle.
Hues of dusty pink come and go.
Our sky,
Our ever changing sky.
Always there for us.
Holding us in its expanse.
Taking a nice deep breath into this sense of expansiveness.
Filling your lungs with the breath of the sky.
When life gets busy.
When your perspective narrows due to stress or overwhelm.
You can always look up and notice how a sense of perspective sweeps over you.
Reducing your problems.
Providing a sense of calm and relief.
Can you relax and let go within the infinite capacity of the sky above.
And for the final few moments placing one hand on your belly and one hand on your heart.
And resting here in this sense of safeness.
In this feeling of what is real.
Your breath and your beating heart.
Feeling the support of the ground below and the sky above.
Resting in what is real.
Resting in what is real.
When you are ready beginning to notice the sounds in your environment.
Noticing sounds far off in the distance.
Noticing sounds closer to you.
Noticing the moments of silence between sounds.
Noticing how you can be still even amidst the busyness of life.
Noticing how you can always come home to what is real.
To your breath.
To your beating heart.
To the ground below and the sky above.
Resting in what is real.

I am real! Thank you for this! Truly helping me reconnect to what is and my physical being ππ Thank you for reminding that earth is here, I am here. Sometimes it is easy to get lost but I know I'll be always guided back home π and I take this reconnection slow and steady. So much love, Namaste π»

Another lovely meditation. My children are grown and gone. But Life continues to be very, very busy. The times I set aside for my meditation practice are so important to me. Anyone would benefit from the gentle thought in this meditation.
