The Four Seasons: The Wisdom Of Cycles

With Mark Mathews

What if the natural world already held the key to navigating change, presence, loss, and rest and all you had to do was pay attention? The Four Seasons: The Wisdom of Cycles is your four-day journey through nature's most powerful metaphor, showing you exactly how spring, summer, autumn, and winter mirror the rhythms of your own life - and how to move through each one with more grace. Day 1: Spring - Learn the courage it takes to begin again. Identify the one "green shoot" in your life that's ready to grow, and take your first small, imperfect step toward it. Day 2: Summer - Discover why we so often miss our own best moments, and practise the art of being fully present for what's actually good in your life right now. Day 3: Autumn - Explore the grace of letting go. Name what you've been holding onto - a grudge, an old identity, a grief - and begin to release it with honour rather than force. Day 4: Winter - Give yourself permission to rest, without guilt or justification. Understand stillness not as emptiness, but as the essential, active work that makes your next season of growth possible. Each session pairs a reflection on that day's season with words from poets and philosophers who understood these rhythms deeply, followed by a guided meditation you'll experience right in the session, plus a simple daily practice to carry with you. This isn't about astrology or any one spiritual tradition. It's about the simple, universal truth that everything in nature moves in cycles - and so do you. When you stop demanding you always be in full bloom, something remarkable happens: you find peace with exactly where you are. No background needed. This course is for you if you're moving through change, feeling stuck between seasons of your own life, or simply want a gentler, more natural framework for understanding yourself. Just a few minutes a day for four days. A rhythm you can return to for the rest of your life.

Lesson 1

Spring - The Courage to Begin Again

Spring is the season of beginning again, and beginning again takes real courage. In this lesson, we explore why new starts always carry vulnerability, and how nature's quiet, unhesitating return each year can teach us to do the same. Through a guided visualisation and a simple daily practice, you'll identify one "green shoot" in your own life - one small, tender thing ready to grow - and take your first imperfect step toward it.

Lesson 2

Summer - The Art of Being Here

Summer is the season of fullness, but it's also the season we're often least present for, standing slightly outside our own happiness rather than inhabiting it. In this lesson, we explore why our minds are wired to scan ahead even when life is genuinely good, and how to gently interrupt that habit. Through a guided visualisation and a simple daily practice, you'll bring to mind something in your life that's actually working right now, and practise receiving it fully rather than observing it from a distance.

Lesson 3

Autumn - The Grace of Letting Go

Autumn is the most emotionally complex of the four seasons - where beauty and loss arrive together. In this lesson, we look at what it really means to let go, not as giving up or pretending something didn't matter, but as an act of honouring what was while making space for what comes next. Through a guided visualisation and a simple daily practice, you'll name one thing you've been holding onto, and begin - gently, without force - the process of releasing it.

Lesson 4

Winter - The Wisdom of Rest

Winter is the season our culture is least comfortable with - quiet, inward, easily mistaken for emptiness or failure. In this lesson, we reframe rest as active and necessary, not something to be earned after enough doing. Through a guided visualisation and a simple daily practice, you'll ask yourself where you truly need to rest, and give yourself permission - without guilt - to be still.
