Welcome to The Daily Insight.
My name is Fleur Chambers,
And it is my pleasure to guide you in today's practice.
Meditation is so much more than relaxation.
Meditation allows us to understand ourselves,
Our lives,
And our relationships in new and profound ways,
In ways that offer us moments of deep gratitude,
Connection,
And heartfelt inspiration.
So together,
Let's come home to ourselves,
To the quiet wisdom that lives within.
So settling into a comfortable position,
Shoulders back away from your ears,
Chest open,
Eyes soft,
Jaw relaxed,
A faint smile resting over your lips,
Noticing how this gesture of a gentle smile changes the way you interact with yourself,
Allowing your awareness to shift from the external to the internal.
Nothing to do,
Nothing to be,
You deserve this time for yourself,
And drawing your awareness to your breath.
Which part of your breath is capturing your curiosity today?
Air flowing in,
Air flowing out,
Chest rising,
Chest falling,
Belly expanding,
Belly contracting,
With each breath coming home to yourself a little more.
Noticing how this sense of coming home feels for you today.
And as you begin to arrive a little more,
To sink a little deeper,
I wanted to share with you an ancient story.
Picture in your mind a blind turtle swimming in a large sea.
An oxen yoke is drifting on top of the sea,
And as the turtle surfaces to breathe,
It sticks its head into the yoke.
Your chance of being born as a human being was less than that turtle had of surfacing into the yoke.
You are that fortunate.
Taking a deep breath into this sense of miracle,
Allowing it to seep deep into your mind,
Body and heart,
And settling once more into the natural ebb and flow of your breath.
With each breath you are coming home to yourself,
To the wisdom that exists within.
Feeling grateful for the way your breath shows you the way home.
Noticing now that your body breathes on its own,
That you are being breathed.
Feeling grateful for the intelligence of your body,
For the miracles it performs each day,
And gently drawing your awareness now to your heart,
Offering your heart a few deep grateful breaths.
Your heart that loves,
Your heart that experiences joy and gratitude,
Your heart that breaks and heals,
Your heart that forgives.
Breathing deep into the space of your heart,
Resting here.
Noticing any sense of warmth,
Of relaxation or openness that may emerge as you connect with your heart in this way.
I'm curious who is in your heart.
Perhaps you see family,
Friends or pets,
Past or present.
Taking in their details,
Noticing now that they are smiling at you.
You smile back,
Taking a deep breath into this sense of shared smile,
Breathing it deep into your being.
Resting here in this sense of thankfulness for those who have a place in your heart,
For those who bring love,
Meaning,
Joy and delight into your life.
And if you are able,
Can you invite yourself into your heart also?
I promise there's room.
Taking a deep breath and welcoming yourself into your heart just as you are today.
Offering yourself a warm hearted smile and whispering in your mind,
Thank you.
Thank you for having the courage to look within,
For being brave enough to connect with your heart.
Breathing into a sense of gratitude for all that you are and all that you will be.
Allowing this sense of gratitude to sweep over your eyes,
Your eyes that see the faces of those you love.
Flowers in spring,
Dusty pink skies,
Birds in flight.
This flow of gratitude moving towards your ears,
For the laughter of friends and family,
The song of birds,
The sound of music,
The gentle lap of a tide.
This flow of gratitude moving towards your lips,
For all the kisses,
The smiles,
For the perfect summer fruits that meet your lips,
For communicating your desires,
Hopes and dreams.
Resting here in a sense of gratitude for the richness of your sensate world.
Returning your awareness once more to your heart.
Breathing deep into this place of natural warmth and wisdom.
Noticing how this feels for you.
And gently asking your heart,
What am I grateful for?
Allowing images,
Thoughts or sensations to come and go.
And now asking your heart,
Who am I grateful for?
If your heart could speak,
What message would it have for you today?
Slowly opening up to receive this message from your heart.
Breathing it deep within you so that it may guide your actions.
Setting yourself a heartfelt intention now for how you would like to show up in the world.
Sealing this intention with one deep breath.
Rubbing your hands together,
Receiving your own warmth.
And gently placing your hands somewhere on your body as a gesture of connection and gratitude for all that you have,
For all that you are,
For all that you will be and for the miracle of life.
Deepening your breath.
Opening your eyes to the space you are in.
May you move through your days with a sense of clarity,
Wonder and appreciation.
