Welcome to this meditation for cultivating courage and authenticity.
Come into a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
And allow your eyes to begin to gently close or rest your gaze on a spot in front of you in the room.
Just start by taking a nice deep breath in through the nose,
Filling your belly up with air,
And exhaling it all out.
Now bring your breath back to its natural rhythm and just notice what it feels like to breathe.
Natural,
Easy,
And relaxed.
Noticing where you feel the breath most predominantly in your body.
As you continue to breathe naturally,
See if on each exhale you can relax your jaw,
Relax your shoulders,
Relax your arms,
Your hands,
Your fingers.
Feel your chest,
Your stomach,
And your legs become heavy with relaxation.
Letting your body drop deeper and deeper into stillness.
You know that there's more for you to live out there.
Keep them blessed with talents and gifts to share with the world.
You know that there's more that you want though.
Some examples could be maybe to learn a new skill,
To be more authentic,
Or maybe to heal a relationship.
Bring to mind something or a situation that you want in your life that perhaps fear has held you back from.
Something that you don't have in this moment,
But something that you want to work towards.
And see if you can just sit with this vision of what you want for a few moments.
And as you hold this vision in your mind,
Notice that fear might start to creep in.
The self-judgment,
Worries about what other people might say or think,
Or even fear of rejection.
Just holding this vision in your mind and noticing that fear.
Next start to notice what that fear feels like in your body when it starts to creep in.
Where do you notice it?
Perhaps that's a lump in your throat,
Or tightness in your chest,
Or somewhere else in the body.
It might even feel like you're holding on to something.
Really observe the sensations without getting caught up in the stories of the fear.
See if you can breathe into those places with kindness and compassion.
The thought you're holding in your mind,
Or the sensations in your body become overwhelming.
Simply notice this,
And then bring your awareness back to your breath.
Noticing if you're on an in-breath or an out-breath.
Fear is always going to be a part of our lives in some way.
All we can do is recognize it and choose to take courageous action in the face of it.
Now take a breath in and think to yourself,
Breathing in strength.
Breathing out,
Letting go of fear and all of the stories connected to it.
Breathe in courage.
Imagine your courage as a glowing light filling up your body.
Breathing out,
Feeling the fear drifting further away.
Breathing in,
Imagining that glowing light of courage completely filling you up,
Feeling it radiating from you,
Surrounding you.
Breathe out,
Trusting that when we honor who we were created to be,
We can be liberated from our fear.
If your mind begins to wander,
That's okay.
Again,
Just simply acknowledge that without judgment or criticism.
And come back to the breath in your body.
Now bring to mind your vision of what you want again.
This time seeing it illuminated by the glowing light of courage,
Hope and strength.
Your life is yours to live my friend.
You have everything you need and there are so many who are in need of your gifts and talents.
You only need to trust that your authentic self is enough.
And now taking one last full breath in through the nose and fully exhaling out of the mouth.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
I hope you enjoyed this practice.
And if you struggled with it,
That's okay.
The more you practice,
The easier it'll become.
And soon you'll find yourself stepping into being who you really are,
And taking that imperfect action to achieve the life you desire.
Thanks for joining me today and be well.
Bye.
