Welcome to this morning meditation practice where you'll cultivate a sense of peace,
Gratitude,
And focus.
This meditation will help you start your day off on the right foot and set you up for a productive day ahead.
If you just woke up and you're still lying in bed,
Continue to rest comfortably.
If you've been up for a bit,
Please come into a comfortable position,
Sitting tall with your spine as straight as possible.
Rest your hands on your thighs or at your sides.
And when you're ready,
Close your eyes and begin to bring your awareness to your breath.
Allow the breath to be slow and deep.
And as you inhale and exhale,
Simply observe each breath as it flows through the body.
Taking this time to bring focus to your day and allowing this stillness to revitalize the mind and body.
If at any point thoughts begin to arise,
This isn't a problem.
Simply notice them without judgment,
Letting any thoughts about yesterday or the past in general to fall away.
And calming any worries or anxiety about the day ahead as you breathe slowly and deeply,
Noticing whether you're on an inhale or an exhale.
Noticing the breath flowing through your body naturally,
Taking this time to be fully present and awake.
Each day is a brand new opportunity to start anew.
And each breath brings vibrant,
Fresh energy to each moment.
We can use this energy to bring a sense of clarity,
Peace,
And resilience to our day,
Preparing us for an easy,
Purpose-filled day.
As you continue breathing naturally,
Notice the breath and sensations in the body.
Notice the breath entering the nostrils,
Perhaps feeling cool as it enters,
And warmer as it leaves the body.
Or perhaps notice the rise of the chest or belly as you inhale and the fall as you exhale.
Now bringing your awareness to the space around your heart.
See if you can open up this area by gently rolling the shoulders,
Letting them fall away from the ears and melt down the back,
Relaxing your chest and shoulders.
Notice the feeling of opening up this space,
The space around the heart.
Feeling what is here for you right now.
Perhaps it's a feeling of gratitude or contentment for a new day and new opportunities.
Or maybe you simply notice a feeling of spaciousness,
An open feeling.
There's no right or wrong way to feel.
Preserving your present moment experience with kindness and compassion is all that matters right now.
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
Holding it at the top for a moment,
And then fully exhale through the mouth.
Good.
Let's take two more breaths just like this,
Breathing in deeply through the nose,
Holding it at the top for a moment,
And fully exhaling through the mouth.
One last time,
Breathe in deeply through the nose,
Hold it at the top for just a moment,
And exhale fully through the mouth.
As we come to the end of this practice,
Begin to bring your awareness back into the room,
Back to your body seated here,
Perhaps begin to wiggle your fingers and toes,
Perhaps stretch the spine upwards.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Thank you for joining me in this practice today.
I hope you have an amazing day.
Thank you.
Good night.
