Hi,

This is Orit Krug,

Board-certified somatic dance therapist and anxious attachment specialist.

Today,

I would love to guide you through a movement-based meditation on reclaiming your power,

Especially when you're anxiously attached.

Being anxiously attached can often make you feel like you're giving away your power in your ability to feel calm and in your ability to self-soothe.

We often look to others,

Especially a romantic partner or love interest,

To reassure us,

To make us feel worthy,

And to help us calm when our anxiety rises.

But when we really tune in to our own bodies,

We can feel our own power,

And we can start trusting that it's there,

No matter what is happening outside of us.

Let's begin this meditation by finding a comfortable position,

Whether you choose to sit,

Lie down,

Or even stand.

Start claiming your power here in what feels comfortable for you.

What position do you want to start out in?

And make as many adjustments as you need until you feel supported enough in your body.

Let's take three deep breaths together.

Breathing in.

And breathing out.

Breathe in.

And breathe out.

One last time,

Big breath in.

And out.

And out.

I'd love to invite you to imagine a source of power inside your own body.

Using your imagination and whatever comes up for you first in this moment,

What do you see?

What do you feel in your own body as your source of power?

It could be a ball of energy that you feel in your chest.

It could be a heated light that you feel through your arms.

It could be any other image or sensation that comes to you as your source of power inside your body.

Once you see it or feel it,

Take all your focus on it as if you're shining a bright light on your power source.

And continuing to use your imagination.

Let's play with your source of power here.

What happens if you move your body just a little bit?

Maybe swaying side to side,

Or even taking big breaths.

There's no right or wrong.

Just choose to do some light movements and see how your source of power maybe shifts in shape or size or feeling.

And that's all we're going to do for the next few minutes.

Keeping your focus on the source of power,

And every time you move your body,

You'll continue to witness and watch and feel this inner source of power.

So we're holding dual focus here.

The focus on moving your body and the focus on being with your power.

This may be hard,

And it's totally okay if you lose focus of one.

Whenever you notice that,

Just bring your focus and attention back to both your power and your movement in your body.

And something that can help you hold the dual focus for longer is to move your body more slowly,

More gradually.

Because if you start moving too quickly,

You might even lose focus of both your power and your physical body.

So for the next few minutes,

Keep your attention on your inner source of power as you move your body,

However you'd like to.

Now,

If this is challenging enough,

Or if this is simply enough,

You can keep doing exactly what you're doing.

However,

If you want to add another layer,

You can imagine now that you are interacting or connecting with the person or the people who you tend to lose your power to.

Even if this person isn't in your life right now,

It could be someone from your past.

It could be an imagined partner in the future.

Imagine that you're connecting,

Interacting,

Or even just standing across from this person.

You may even feel that urge inside of your body to just give everything inside of you to this person.

Give that source of power in you to this person.

You might even see or feel that inner source of power leaving your body and wanting to give it all to this person.

So in this moment,

Anchor back in that feeling,

That sensation,

That vision of that source of power in your body.

Take the time you need to feel it inside of you.

And now you can imagine walking towards this person,

Moving towards them,

And continuing to hold and even nurture that power within you as you imagine interacting with them.

And again,

I invite you to move your physical body right here,

Right now,

As you imagine interacting and connecting with this person.

And now take your time.

Imagine yourself backing away,

Separating,

Still seeing and feeling the power within you.

And if you need to imagine moving away even more slowly,

If you maybe need to physically touch the part of your body where you feel this power,

Do that.

There's no right or wrong.

And start to dissolve the image of the other person,

Continuing to feel your power within,

And breathe into that power.

Breathing in.

Again,

Breathing in,

Feeling into that power inside of you.

Remember that this power is always inside of you,

Even when you can't feel it,

Even when it feels lost.

It is never lost.

You may lose your sense of connection with it,

But it is still there.

Thanks so much for joining.

And remember,

You deserve all the love that you desire.
