Hi,
This is Ori Krug,
Board-certified dance movement therapist and trauma and relationship expert.
Today,
I would love to guide you through a movement-based meditation to have you feel that it's all going to be okay.
You know when you hear that from a friend or loved one,
It's all going to be okay.
And it's hard to take in,
It's hard to believe,
But all you really want is someone to just hold you and tell you it's all going to be okay.
Well,
Let's try that right now.
Find yourself in a comfortable position,
Whether that's sitting,
Lying down,
Or standing,
And close your eyes.
Really ask your body,
Am I comfortable here right now?
Am I supported here right now?
Or is there a way I can feel even more supported right now?
You might want to lay down and feel your entire body held by the ground.
Or if you're sitting,
Place yourself up against a wall so that you're already held.
Don't be afraid to change your mind several times.
And when you've reached a point where your body says yes,
Right here,
Close your eyes or lower your gaze.
And let's take in three deep breaths.
Breathing in,
And breathing out.
Again,
Breathing in,
And breathing out.
One last time.
Breathing in,
And breathing out.
I want to invite you now to hold yourself the way you want someone else to hold you.
To really,
Really hold yourself,
Whether that's a self-hug,
Or you wrap your arms around your entire body,
Your knees,
Your shoulders.
Just wrap yourself up in your own arms,
And tell yourself out loud or quietly,
Everything is going to be okay.
I promise you,
Everything is going to be okay,
No matter what happens.
Keep holding yourself through this,
And follow whatever other impulses your body has.
Maybe as you hold yourself,
You want to rock a little bit forward and back or side to side.
Maybe you start to get the impulse to caress your shoulders as you're hugging yourself.
To start holding your face gently.
To caress your own hair.
How would you want someone else to truly hold you and support you and your body,
And tell you everything is going to be okay?
You can do that right now.
You can do that right now with your own body,
And continue to say,
Everything will be okay.
Whatever happens,
It will be okay.
Everything will be okay,
I promise you.
Give yourself one last caress,
One last squeeze,
One last gentle stroke of your hair,
Or whatever is working for you right now,
And take a deep breath in and out.
And remember,
You are supported,
You are loved,
And everything truly will be okay.
