We will look at the purpose and significance of the most common tools and how each of them acts as an extension of the energy a practitioner creates and raises. Beginners, experienced practitioners, and those just curious about Wicca can all benefit from this foundational look at magickal tools.

Purpose

Before going into each of the basic tools, this lesson serves as an introduction to why tools are used in the first place. Some Wiccan tools might seem familiar to many because of their resemblance to articles used by more well-known religions. In both cases, tools serve a purpose—the understanding of which is essential.

This lesson gives an overview of each of the eight most commonly used tools in the practice of Wicca. This is not an exclusive or must-have list, but a guide to the basics, what they represent, and how they are utilized.

After you’ve carefully crafted or chosen your tools, you will want to prepare them for use by hallowing them. This lesson looks at the necessity of consecrating altar tools and offers an example of doing so.
